So I went to Cali for about three days, and the low fuel lights came on the way out...how many gallons are left in the tank when it comes on? I didn't see anything in the owners handbook about it.

Oh and BTW if your girl can’t read a map, don’t let her navigate…you’ll literally end up in Tijuana on the way home and spend 2.5 hours trying to get back into the U.S.

I have noticed the light will come on with about 2 gallons left.

 

So to be conservative you have about 25 miles left until empty…

 

25-40... or 2 needle widths below E

That is correct...It will generally come on when you use 9.9 gallons of fuel, give or take a bit...We have 11.9 gallon gas tanks...I have cut it close, TOO close and have managed to squeeze in 11.7 gallons!

Long time ago we were on a Sedona Run and ended up going from Jerome to PBC in Prescott. I was on the the fuel light starting between Sedona and Jerome and made it in the tC back to Prescott Valley...best guess was about 28mi right there. Not brave enough to try farther
