monday's are always bad
Wow man, thats a bummer, glad to know you both came out of there walking. i got into an accident a few months back and was shocked at how well the tC held up, and from ur pics it looks like the tc held together. I was expecting worse with the entire roof being glass an everything...

Hey bro I've been in about 12 wrecks mostly due to me driving a good 80K miles a year thats not to include my 40K in comute miles. That's neither here nore there.
It's always awesome talk walk from a wreck. here is some advise take it with a grain of salt....
First did you get GAP.
My 02 tacoma, I rolled after 6 months of owning it. And because I had 65K miles on it the Ins screwed me but I had Gap thank god. that covered it. So After the truck got fully paid off I asked the ins co if I could buy back the salvage. they said I could either buy it with a check or recieve the lesser amount on there payment.
My tacoma was cosmetically tatolled but had a good trany and engine with 60K on it. So I purchased the salvage for 123$ yes then sold the whole truck to some dude wanting to build a baja truck for 2900$ Now That was a good situation. Yours may be a bit diff, but you could buy the salvage and keep the engine build it up to the specs any street racer would want and sell it. All you need is a place to store it and some extra change to make extra change..

yes i have gap, the finance manager would not hand over the keys without it... i still need to hear bavk from my insurance on what is going on...
i might buy it, but i dont know... the tranny is probably toast because when i went to take the pics and tried to move the shifter out of 5th and couldnt (its stuck there...)...
hopefully ill be able to buy it and get some of my parts that i swapped from my FM tC back...

comment made by "barrigas14" have been removed along with quotes of his negative comments and our responses, hopefully it will be like he never came in and made those comments which weren't needed.

***UPDATE***
The appraiser estimated the amount of damage to be around $26k so its declared a total loss.
They are giving me around $18k for it since I am taking the salvage title and GAP will cover the rest.
The guys at Camelback have already lined me up with a FM tC and I should have that within the next 2 weeks. I am going to keep the seats from the RS and get them dry cleaned so I can put them in my new one as well as the grille, hidden subwoofer and amp, HVAC controls (since I had the LED colors changed), and short shifter. The iPod deck, cords, and the connector for it are already have a pending sale for them.

glad to hear you're ok. cars can be replaced - people cannot.
about the rear sway bar causing the issue - this was mentioned on the clublexus.com forum and i would encourage anyone with only an upgraded rear sway bar to either upgrade the front as well or go back to stock in the rear...
not everyone will be as lucky after going through an accident like this...
