Default Need some advise on a quite exhaust.

I did alot of reaserch and still am left wondering my options. I am looking for a quite aftermarket exhaust for my 06' XB. I just put on a Injen Short ram. And I am adding a Scan Gauge II. Now I am looking at headers and exhaust for it. There are many options. Just looking for the quite one. I hate the bee sound. And we take road trips to California. I'd rather not listen to the loud noise for 6 hours. So am I out of options? What is the best? Thank You in advance for any info you guys can help with.

To go with this.... Does anybody know any websites to listen to some of the exhaust samples? I know some of the companies have it on their websites but some don't. Just curious.

Greddy Evo 2 is so perfect. For the first thousand miles you cant hear it at all, but you feel it. After that it starts to have a very low rumble on acceleration.

I love the evo 2 to death and Id suggest the hell out of it.

Kinda both a little hp gain. Lets face it we can only get so much hp out of these thing without spending thousands on the motor. But important thing is quite.

I have the TRD on mine and its quieter than most of the others out there, but when you add a header with it then that is when it gets louder.
You could always just replace your exhaust piping with a larger diameter pipe like 2.5in. This way you will stay quiet and have a little extra hp with the larger diameter pipe.

Either that or go with any exhaust and dynomat your car. That will eliminate a lot of exterior noise. Here is a cheaper alternative to dynomat it is called fatmat. I think it works the same, but a lot cheaper. I am looking to do it to my car. But that will get rid of a lot of exterior noise. It is all in what you are wanting to do. Anytime you change the headers and exhaust, you are going to get an increase in noise. JMHO

It's really hard for me to tell because I'm always INSIDE my car and OUTSIDE everyone else's, but I have the Greddy SP2 and it's quiet. I think the EVO2 is just a tad louder.

Maybe we should have a parking lot drag race meet and check out all the exhaust sounds. Everyone drives someone else's car so you can hear the noise both inside and outside.

Have you looked at eDead from Elemental Designs. They have 2 versions, 45mil and 60mil. I can't find thickness for fatmat. You can also order by the square foot instead of buying set packages sizes (36, 50, 100 square feet) like fatmat.

They also offer discounts to scionlife members, just type "forum" in the search box for forum prices.

I know I have seen fatmat on Brian's xA and it is nice. You can tell a difference just by knocking on the side of the car. I have no experience with any other, I just know what I have seen with Brian's. I just know that that type of stuff, Dynomat, Fat Mat and eDead are great for keeping out road noise and stuff like that. Not just for sound systems. Thanks for the information, I will be looking to do this soon and the more info, the better.

That DC sports would be plenty loud if you cut out the resonator. Isn't that what Eddie did? You can hear him coming.

I like my setup, DC header w/TRD exhaust. Louder than stock of course.

Same setup I have, I love it. Wouldnt mind it being a bit louder tho. I have been thinking of eliminating the resonator but not sure if I want it that loud..
