directly or indirectly from any of the following:
Fire, accidents or theft
Abuse or negligence
Misuse for example, racing or overloading
Improper repairs
Alteration or tampering, including installation of non-Scion
Authorized Accessories
Lack of or improper maintenance, including use of fluids
other than those specified in the Owners Manual
Installation of non-Scion Authorized Parts
Airborne chemicals, tree sap, road debris (including stone
chips), rail dust, salt, hail, floods, wind storms, lightning and
other environmental conditions
Water contamination
Here is the page right off the warranty book. Look at line 5. They CAN void the warranty if they would like. Most companies do not cause they want to keep you buying there cars and dont want a negative wrap on them in the customer service dept. Why do you think 90% of the parts you buy say Off Road use only. They are covering there butts there.
Congrats on gettin ur tC back man!! That sux about the suprise thing, at first I was like he should be happy that he got a car but then I read on and I was like I see where he's coming from. But anyways, you didn't try to go to Camelback? Although I've been to Arizona many, many times I'm not so sure how far Chandler is from Glendale/Phoenix.
Obviously I know that IF the part did the damage then the warranty won't apply, but even if there is an aftermarket part and the car had a brakedown, AND that part didn't cause the brakedown, they have to have to service your car.

but then there is the magnasson something act which states that they can not void the warranty unless they can prove that the part in question did in fact cause the problems. this does not mean that they dont do it anyway but if you fight it using that law then you might be able to get it done in the end. but im sure some dealerships will just try to not cover it under warranty just because you have aftermarket parts. not everyone knows about this law and not everyone will fight it. like say you have an aftermarket exhaust and your brakes go bad they will have to cover it under warranty because there is no way the aftermarket part is what caused your brakes to break.
im glad you were able to get it fixed though!

Sorry soGone, didn't mean to start anything on that one. After you and I spoke I totally understand where you are coming from.
Really glad to hear everything went well. Now that it has been a day and you have had some driving on it, still feeling good? I hope so....
