*edit--I can't link to the yahoo map...psh ____
Coolness. PM the list to me and I'll get it to the NM people. We can select 3-5 numbers to distribute to the AZ group and the NM people can share their numbers there.

This is coming together nicely. Thanks to Wade, Ray and all others involved!

PS There's only 8 rooms left in the entire hotel.

7 hours??! from where? When i checked from Alb to Silver city it gave me about 4.5 hours. I figure we will have to leave by 8 to make it there about 12. I figure we wont all meet together in the city til about 12-12:30. Is there a route where everyone would be able to cruise into the city? send me a link to the yahoo site that may have a route where we would be all together. that would be so sweet, I've never seen 30+ Scions cruise together, Albuquerque doesnt have that many Scions on the road I dont think lol.

Default "THE RUN"

HEY
Good morning everyone ! If you want to PM me with your cell #'S , I will put a list together and e-mail it to the out of towners and have a handout ready when we meet in Tucson....this will include ph #'s and a map for any who might get left behind...

It normaly takes 3 hr's to get to Silver from Tucson but with the stops I figure It will take about 4 so that put the Az. peeps in Silver about 1 P.M. New Mexico time (remember they are one of those wierd states that changes their time in spring and fall)
We can all meet @ the Holiday Inn parking lot (it's not that big though) or we can meet at the old K-Mart parking lot I think the sign still says STREAM on it (it was a
Microsoft call center last) whatever everyone wants to do is cool by me

As for a cruise if anyone wants too after we all meet and get some chow we can make a short run thru Pinos Altos the "LOOP" a very beautiful scenic drive through the lower Gila's and then a quick run back thru Mimbres Vally past the old Santa Rita Mine and back to Silver..........then it will be close to dinner time..a little rest @ the HO-TEL then chow......After dinner if we want we can CRUISE thru downtown Silver up and down Bullard (An old low rider tradition that still happens every weekend in Silver).
For those of you that like to Party @ night ther are several bars in Silver The Buffalo is one of the oldest bars in Silver and they usually have a live band on Sat nights, there is also the Flame,or the Double Eagle or the Drifter Lounge so if you want to go out Sat. night have a good time !!!!!!!

Sunday A.M. breakfast and then a beautiful cruise to Glenwood and out to the CATWALK for a short hike up the side of the mountian (an easy hike or I would not make it) it was redone not long ago and is very safe and scenic when you get almost to the end ther is a pool of water under a rock great area for photos (water is extremly cold not for swimming this time of year unless you're a polar bear )

Hows taht sound to everybody?????

I used MapQuest this time and got better results. I was thinking we could meet in San Antonio(NM) or at the junction of 380 and I-25. It's 315 miles on this route and 6 hours, but at 70 mph its easily 4.5-4.75 hours(for me from Roswell). It's two hours to San Antonio for us and probably 1-1.5 for you all. And, from San Antonio its is 151 miles so roughly two hours from there. If we met in San Antonio at 10:00 we could definitely make it to Silver at 12:30. Let me know what you think. This will be a very scenic drive from Roswell to San Antonio and then to Silver. Should be fun.

Later.

I am PHYSCED (spelling not one of my strong points) that so many peeps are signed up and going ..I am BUMMED that more Tucson peep's did not sign up......but it will be cool hangin with all you northerners from Phx and N.M.
So far I have only gotten a few ph #'s but thats cool we have plenty of time before the run.

You’re doing a great job, All I want is a good time, great food, great scenery and lots of places to shoot pictures. I’m trying to find a camera and video mounts for the tC, it is going to be cool to shoot video on the way down.

OK so as far as convenience goes, who all has walkie talkies? I have one 5 mi. range radio myself and I know after talking to some members at this weekends meet some people have extras. I think that the more people that we can get a radio in their hand the better, and the more fun :-D.

Walkie talkies are a good idea. Since safety is the first rule we could sure use them.

Wade, we should have a point/lead car and a trailer. Radios in each car. Sound right? Lead car sets the pace (speed) for the entire caravan.

Everyone PM your cell number to Wade. Let's not leave everything till the last minute.

Good Morning
Walkies sounds good, but I thought they were all different frequincies? Are there some that you can set so we will all be able to chat ????

As for the rabbit (lead car) and backdoor (last car) having radios thats a great idea in case one of the rocking chairs (cars in the middle) has to stop or something
I dont have any radios but I will look into some @sportmans whse. this week and see if they have any with multiple freq.

Kelly bring your extra battery packs cause there will be more photo ops than you can shake a stick at............The lower Gila's are @ the begining of the Mogillon range and have some of the most beautiful scenery in the state of N.M., Great food is no problem we'll be in N.M. , and a good time well that goes without saying you'll be hangin with some pretty cool peep's
As for a camera mount maybe you could talk someone into bieng strapped to the top of your TC

Most, last I heard, work off the same basic CB frequencies.

I'll pick up a set @ Best Buy.

when we did the poker run I used mine along with n7's, they genereally go off the same frequency unless you get into the settings like you can on mine and change the fine tuning.

Mine has like 14 channels so as long as we're all on say for example channel 2....we should be able to all talk to each other.

CB radios... brings back memories. That's where my username comes from, my days on the CB in the '70s.

Anyone have the soundtracks to the Smokey & The Bandit movies?

I have the DVD too :-p

Eastbound and down, loaded up and truckin'
Ah we gonna do what they say can't be done
We've got a long way to go, and a short time to get there
I'm eastbound, just watch old Bandit run

Keep your foot hard on the pedal
Son, never mind them brakes
Let it all hang out cause we got a run to make
The boys are thirsty in Atlanta
and there's beer in Texarkana
We'll bring it back no matter what it takes

Eastbound and down, loaded up and truckin'
Ah we gonna do what they say can't be done
We've got a long way to go, and a short time to get there
I'm eastbound, just watch old Bandit run

I'm eastbound, just watch old Bandit run

Old Smokey's got them ears on
He's hot on your trail
And he ain't gonna rest 'til you're in jail
So you've got to dodge him, you've got to duck him
You gotta keep that diesel truckin'
Just put that hammer down and give it hell

Eastbound and down, loaded up and truckin'
Ah we gonna do what they say can't be done
We've got a long way to go, and a short time to get there
I'm eastbound, just watch old Bandit run
