Write an absolute kick butt Sponsorship proposal and be wiling to dump a lot of cash out yourself to do all that work. Good luck
Yeah takes cash man. My #1 sponsor is my Wallet. Now I get offers that I turn down. Organizing only a select few that I like and had good experiences with. Then there are some I wouild like to apply for. Just depends.
what do you mean be willin to dump money in to it lol..my number one sponsor is me lol i did all of those mods myself! no thanks to scion...for being all about personalization, they sure are the opposite, unless you strictly go through them which is absolutely rediculous!!! cause i wanna pay 400 for an exhaust that adds 2 horsepower...give me a break...got on ebay brand new 200 installed myself along with the rest of the stuff! if scion was truely aiming for a new age group you cant price parts for your cars as if it were a audi it just doesnt work and its not smart business
i had a belltech sponsorship and a nitto tires sponsorhip when i have my truck, they would not even give me a full sponsorship until my truck was painted and that i was running differnt rims, so to get basically "free tires" i had to spend 12 grand on a paintjob, and 4 grand on some billet specialties, not that i "had too" i was going to anyway, but i think you get my point. You dont get something for nothing, most sponsorships require some level of prior "winning show" experince, and that your car is on the level of a show car to begin with. Once you have established yourself as a "winning" propostion THEN they may sponsor you, and THEY may help you build up your car further. and i had to give up every weekend for 6 monthes, and pay for my own gas too and from shows, and the maintance and they upkeep, sponsorships are not freebies.
I had such a time getting sponsors.. Nobody would look at sponsoring my truck..
But till I had pretty much finished it up and it had been in 3 magazines did they take me serious. So if you have not had that much exposure or your name in the circle of shows/events. I wish you luck.

+1
also sponsors sometimes want there stuff back too, its not a gift, its not free, and its not a way to get your car moddified without putting out your own cash, and time.
again i wish you luck.
RJ what did you do to your truck?

this is very understandable...my main problem is i dont care to have a bunch of crap in my car as far as all show no go...i do the all go no show type thing minus lowering springs and rims and tires which both helped in performance considerably....so i guess i will continue with "my" project and go from there....thanks guys!

LOL... Im sorry, but getting sponsors is not just sending something out on SL. I bust my a$$ to get the sponsors I have and I do whatever it takes. I have alot of sponsors, but building a vehicle before that has been in a magazine helps alot. I suggest sitting down and thinking about what you really want and need and start approaching those companies direct.
you take it as someone said it wasn't hard...no one ever said that....they only thing i said is i dont want a bunch of crap in my car..which i still dont dont care to have 20 speakers and 6 tv's, and 500 different colors of pretty little lights it looks stupid. that is why i said i will continue to depend on myself cause i get what i want...i will take teh route of self customization and bring something to the table, that not everyone and there momma has...hmmm like possibly a tC
...hmmmm to think of it i dont think i saw 10 of them in the last magazine i read? keep to the wanna be rsx ill go my way... i appreciate those who said something that was constructive to the original post...it was good insight, cause i originally had no insight on the topic at all

I have to add this last bit just because greedy people like yourself ____ me off to no end. Having the honor of receiving a sponsorship is much more than showing off the goods, it's representing a style all your own and in representing that style, you are also representing the companies that helped you get there. With that said, a sponsorship should be approached just like any other business contract. You are in need of a product, they are in need of a way to get the product to be seen by consumers. Why would ANY company want you to represent their products if you handle business in an unprofessional manner as many have obviously done? If you really want to get their attention, write a proper proposal that includes your reasons for acquiring said sponsorship and what you can do for them. This is a two sided agreement, both sides must gain something from this transaction. Also, don't be a dick to the people that would be purchasing items from the company you intend to represent, doesn't work well for business.
sponsorship isn't all about money either, its also about attitude, and companies aren't gonna want somebody with the attitude displayed above to represent their products and their name. Maybe that is the first thing you should change, instead of thinking that they owe you a sponsorship maybe try that you need their assistance. If you want to get some one to help you you don't go up to them and say "do this" you get to know them(their product) and then things may come to you.
Basically what I'm sayin is grow up

LMAO at how many of us work for corporations that do sponsorships.
There will not be one from this end here. And I will put the word out with all mine also now.
Thanks for playing...
