Is there any hope in that this community can even be fixed at this point?? Its very Sadening to me that at one point in time we had what I THOUGHT to be the best Scion community here on Scionlife and was proud to be part of it, only for it to take a big dump down the crapper and become what it has now. It seems that no one is even willing or wanting to try to and fix this let alone even talk about it. Seeing that the other thread was locked earlier here on Scionlife it made me realize that people would rather sweep things under the rug and not talk about any of the issues that are going on, on here. I also know from another source that a similiar thread was also locked on another forum.

We as a group are going to be the only way of actually fixing this. I don't know if people wanted to ruin this community or what, but we have done a great job at it if thats what was trying to be accomplished.

You know I have made a lot of great friends and alot of close friends here that started with one simple common ground, the love of our scions. I am just tired of the Drama that has gone on. Tired of the jabs and little digs that people have made toward each other. What ever happend to treating others as you wanted to be treated?? I know that there are many other people that were tired of the same thing and that is why they have left this community, sold their car, or just moved on. Some may even feel the same but are afraid to voice their opinion.

I hope that we can fix this as a group but if people aren't willing, then its not going to happen. Anyway this is my opinion on this whole situation. I guess if it can't be fixed then the last resort is to walk away from it all.....

 

I hope people chill, It was AWSOME in vegas getting to see everyone again! The drama is pretty much why I have only poped my head in every not and again in the d&s area but do hope to hang with everyone again soon.

Mabey we can set up a hang, mabey all meet up at F1 race factory or somthing like that just to have some fun again.

 

I'm with u on this one Chris...kinda sad to see what can happen to a great group of people cause of drama...this is the only reason why i don't post on here because of the drama. Kinda funny that 73 people have looked at this post and only 2 have posted back...

 

There a meet this saturday @ the pavillions in scottsdale @ 7pm. Were trying to put things in the past so lets see everyone come on out and hangout old fashioned style. Hope 2 see everyone there

No willie, this has happened several times before...we have been back and forth back and forth on this issue over the last several years...we have lost several peeps because of it....my good friend Scott (phoenixtc) just to name one...just when we think it's going good more drama for your mama spouts up...we have tried the "cant' we all just get along thing"...or "group hug" but it seems not to last very long...not sure if it will ever truly be "fixed" because I don't think everyone can be pleased!

 

Sorry Tim, I am not picking on you just using your post. Your right not everyone can be pleased, never will happen we are too diverse of a culture for everyone to have the warm fuzzy feeling.
IMO and I have seen it in the the Mini truck community as well. Everone gets to the point where everything seems the same over and over. Little things adds up and it just starts to eat into everyone and draws out that drama.. We used to joke when the drama got really bad.. what we needed was a good truck run (endless summer, Spring Splash) that usally fixed things.
What makes it worse we are all arm chair warriors.. Our mouths, tempers, egos run rampid here on line since we are behind a monitor and not face to face. We all have a tendancy to rant and rave before we think it out 100% thru, then later after its been blasted out there and we sit back and look at it. I just seems silly ,stupid, dumb, etc, but the damage has been done.
Now this is what amazes me most.. You have several key members in this community that don't seem to want to step it up and help with the overall community togetherness thing It might be a lost cause but, lost causes are always the best to work to fix.. .. and Yes, I am going to call out some people/groups and dang the torpedos all ahead full. Randy.. YOU amaze me the most.. Your livelyhood, income, job is basically modding Scions and what ever cars end up in your shop. You have the most to loose but, you don't seem to want to get involved (I know at some point you cannot, just good business sense) but still. I will say you do some awesome work and you make it work but, sometime you gotta put your foot down. You may not like it but, you are one of many key figures in the Scion community..
Chad called you out and others the other day in the SA forum post and what you do.. You backed down at a major opportunity to help yourself.. SA, Scikotics, other clubs, and the community and of course any chairity that it helped

Other Key figures are the dealerships, the clubs, and of course the Scion loving crazy people which is all of us. I will be the first to say.. Sorry man.. Not trying to pick on you but just maybe kick you in the shorts a bit for some motovation.
We get those that just cannot seem to have anything good to say and others that just are nothing but the soul and heart of our (yes OUR) community.
Now other people I will call out are the Clubs, Oh man.. you all have your own drama within your clubs to deal with.. BUT dont forget to look outside your cliche there are those around you not involved with the clubs that catch the overflow of drama within your ranks. I think being a club member is the hardest part.. You have to Keep your self in check.. your club members in check and keep the crap that is outside your club from creating drama that drags you down. I don't miss those days at all.
Sorry this is starting to turn to a rant and I did not want it to I am also tired
So I am just putting out some of my opinions down. I have typed out sooo much stuff and just deleted it cause I did not want to mess with getting involved anymore. I have spend 20+ years in/out of car clubs, in the mini trucking scene and show scene and its in my blood. I cannot stay out long without getting back into it.

For those others that are lurking out there like I have been for several months..
this is YOUR community as well.. do not feel like you dont need to chime in.
One of the ladys I worked with had a motto.. All it takes is a few snowflakes to create a snowstorm (dunno we are in arizona whos see's snow) Just takes a few people to start getting going on the right path.

Those that are and I know your are.. going to chime in with inappropiate content, all I can say.. you add to the problem, why don't you take a step back and see what your doing and think it out.
And for those out there that are going to still rip this apart.. feel free, its just words

I am glad to see people post who have been around the car club scene for more years than the rest of of us. I know that you guys have probably scene it all and I also know that your advices are that, something to help us all to try and fix it. As I said before it is going to take all of us to fix this. I know some people won't want to post or even try to fix this. I also know that there are people out there with hurt feelings over all of this. But can we all put our Ego's aside for once. How are we ever going to have Scion Corporate throw us some huge events like they have done for us in the past if our community stays like this. You all can't disagree that they haven't taken great care of us. They have treated us the best from paying our ways to HIN, NOPI, Scion Backstage, having a VIP tents with food, drinks, give aways...... I know they put up the money for F1 Race Factory to let our group have that building for the time we did at Spring Quake. What would want to make them throw us another $100 Grand event we we are all acting like kids and can't get along. We need to start somewhere to resolve this.....

 

ok.... i think i left for a little to long! I have decided to come back and JOIN OUR communitty! I am making a challange to all my old friends and team members! casue we own scions WE are a TEAM! My challenge is to for everyone to meet up! I also wanna challenge everyone 2 come out this saturday and hangout at the pavillions. You guys talk about is there any hope left for our community. Yes there is and always will be hope. Why don't you guys come out this saturday and we can revive this community back to were it used to be no matter what club your in and what not. We all have the same thing in common, we love our scion and modding it as well. So if you really serious about bringing this community back together as a whole, come out saturday and PROVE IT. So I challenge everyone to come out and revive our community! See you guys saturday @ 7 @ the Pavillions in scottsdale.

 

Only one issue to you challange .. Alot (about 6-8 people)of us already have dinner plans set for 7pm on Saturday. So how about Saturday night in/out at chandler mall instead.
that or We shall see how it goes after dinner and then try for the Pavillions.

I'd say if your going to toss out a challange.. give out more than 2 days notice for them to show up.. You just might get a better turn out. just a IMO FYI type thing..


Some of you probally know.. some of you don't I (should not say I but WE) have been having what we call Odd-Friday dinners.. (now its been moved to Odd-Saturday dinners cause of work schedules) We have anywhere between 4-18 ppl show up to them.

 

Rj,,I'm sure it is no biggie if you cant make it on short notice when you and others already had dinner plans. For those that can make it out then great. For those others that cant maybe the next one

 

Pavillons have been determined since Monday. Dinner plans are important, and we dont exspect ppl to drop what they have planned for a meet. but I would still like for who ever doesnt have plans or previous engagements to come out.

 

This week or next... everyone should show some face!

 

there's a show next weekend so I'm sure some people won't make it for burgers, but those guys will probably be at pavilions.
