i joined SL about 4 months after i bought my 06 FM tC, which was around Christmas 2005. i was immediately turned off by how immature the members acted towards one another and to newbies to scions (this is in the tC section mind you, not D&S) so i moved onto yoursciontc.org and all was good until after i got the rs2.0...

some of you may (or may not) have noticed that i have been dormant from SL and Scionetics and meets. the main reason is due to the fact that everytime i show up at a meet, someone has to comment about the choice i made that nearly took the lives of myself and my wife. i know i should have kept it on the track and i know that i f***ed up, but i have made my peace with my decision and have moved on. the only problem is that i find it hard to be a part of the scene if people cannot let the past remain in the past and move on.

anyways, my wife and i are trying to get back into the scene, she is probably going to be getting an xB in the next few months and i might be getting another FM tC or possibly an rs3.0 or maybe the 4.0 (depending on the colors)

Why don't we have / setup a "start off fresh get together" like what people describe as the "old days". Lets drop all the crap and hard feelings and start talking again. I did not really get to meet allot of people until roswell and had a blast.

Mabey this will help settle things and bring people back that have been gone for so long or bring in new people? It will probably have to be a large event.

I vote no trophies, no awards or anything like that. The reason I do not want all that stuff is at shows I spend 99% of my time cleaning and showing the car, not getting to know people or looking at cars... And then at the end when someone wins, it seems like people are not ever happy with the winner and that sucks also. This way the people that are doing there best to compete can relax, smile and have a good time. Lets just have a good old HANG OUT / show for people just to have fun... Anyone else wanna do this..? Might help bring threads like this to an end.

For me I am still having fun with the Scion group. I have meet a lot of great people from it. It's sad to see that we have people leaving or already have lost them because of what ever drama has occured. There have been some great people I hate to see leave. It's bound to happen with a group this big that your gonna get some differences from time to time. some people may get along better then others or some it maybe more common interests, age groups or even hanging out with people on nights other than at our meets. that could be just plain hard when you live on opposite sides of the valley.

One of the things that I loved about our group was that it was an "un-club". You don't have all of the rules and BS that comes along with a club. I was in a club back in Califoria that if you missed 2 meetings in a row you got a fine for it. So for that I would never join another formal club cause of my experience with that.

I hope that this drama can be cleared up.......as someone stated before you basically make the group what you want it to be.

Heres where i stand on the KOOLAID subject.

Kyle is a buddy of mine that met because of our cars!
The only thing I think Kyle did wrong whcich he made a very public apology for was when he went off on RANDODE
I can understand his reasons behind being upset. I personally have always worked things out with Randy on a friendly and proffesional level.

I have my reasons to believe you are behind the whole Koolaid issue and posting up with the three alternate names/profiles.
I cannot get it out of my head that you are behind it all! Im tired of just thinking it was you and am now asking
Was it you that put up the alternate profiles to get back at Kyle for Randy and Kyles issue!
Lets just say im really salty about the situation and just want to hear it from you that you are not behind it and also that you do not know who is behind ruining Kyles career! That is all. Once I see the typed words saying you had no invlovment with trying to get back at Kyle i will drop the issue until someone decides to grow some ba11$ and admit to thier mistake. only then will people be forgiving and move along with whats happened.
There I said it!

p.s. everyone else........ i love you all my scion familia!

I agree with Jeremy! Lets just have one huge get together/BBQ/whatever where there are not prizes or anything. Just somewhere were we get together eat and have fun. Maybe even drive somewhere around the valley. Heck, I would offer my house for the get together, but I would need to ask my wife and there is not enough room for that many cars. Unless there is a huge park or something we can use or rent out. This would be fun. No compotition, just a meet and greet. There are so many good people here, I think this would be great! New meets old. And I am new. I have only been on the Scion scene less that 6 months. I took delivery of my scion on 6/30/06.

Everyone I have met to date are great people. I would love to meet more of you!

ok! thats all i needed to hear!

(dwest)
Dave I apoligize for thinking it was you! Just some of the comments made previously from you were kinda uncalled for. I hope there are no hard feelings about this issue i just really needed to hear you were not behind this. Now I ask "can we still be friends"

Randy, with you being a business man i knew that you could have not afforded to stoop to such a level of doing this and is why i didnt think you would be behind it.

Like Mark,Randy, and Kyle, I myself would like to see who was the creator of this all and would like this person to just come clean with it!

I think Kiwana's (if spelled right) would be a great place. Maybe have a huge BBQ or something like that. Something the whole family (for those with kids, both young and old) can come to and have a great time. The holidays are apon us and tend to make it a bad time, but I think this is necessary. It is great to bring families together. Expecially one huge Scion family!! Heck, Arizona has perfect weather almost year round.

you can check ip's but it really doesn't say anything. someone can have a router setup with dhcp which gives them a new ip everytime its rebooted (mine does, only way *** would give me one) or they could have been at the library and logged in. its almost imossible to find out who it was without contacting the phone company or doing some extensive tracking. just my two cents.

I couldn't agree more. I have only been to one scion get together at Garage1217's place and the cameraderie among scion owners was definitely there. Very cool.

As far as my expectations for meets in the future with all of you guys, I had no idea you guys gave out prizes or had contests. On other car forums that I've been on, we usually do exactly what Dagarhart said - meet, eat, hang out, have fun and maybe drive around.

The whole "my car is better than yours" thing whether it be via a contest or an attitude taken up by someone who wants to prove something is pretty childish and honestly, is it worth it to bicker over something so petty?

I would think that if someone DID have that type of mentality, they would be saving up for a Hummer, Porsche or something similar...

I dunno - that's my 3rd party point of view.

I'm going to be so stoked when I get my xb so I can be part of the crew...

woooooooooo!

And you will be a welcomed addition the the family!

The Pimp and Ho's party should also work. I think that will be awesome, but it is not centrally located like Kiwana's. That is probably the most centrally located park.

You should start coming to some of the meets so you can see what others have done and get ideas for your xB if you are going to mod it. I am sure you will be a welcomed future Scion owner.

We have an In-And Out meet planned on the 18th. Is that too soon? We could move it to Kiwana's park no problem.
