Chicagoland area - Xb2 newbie
Greeetings all!
I am the new owner of a 2009 Xb. I want to start the upgrading process with a sway bar set and springs.
I was wondering if there was anyone in the Chicagoland area that has an Xb2 with the Hotchkis sway bar set and/or springs that would be willing to take me for a short ride. I would love to feel what the difference is.
Thanks

moved this to the Regional forum for you.
GL finding someone, i know theres quite a few people out there.
youll prob have better luck once it gets warmer though, your best bet would be to try to attend some shows.

My wife drives an XB2.
Eventually to get lowered.
Based on the work I've done on my XA, the antisway in the rear will sharpen up the handling, but will not affect the straight ahead ride.
Lowering coils with a progressive rate, like Eibach Sportlines are actually designed to work with factory dampers & will stiffen the ride a bit. It will still be comfortable, until you increase the damping.

yellowh: Thanks for moving the post....and the info. I wasn't sure of the best place to put the thread. I at least wanted to try to get it in an appropriate forum. I wasn't counting on getting any offers, but I thought I would give it a try. The Xb is going to be my daily driver, so I can't save it for the nice weather
Mr.Ex: Thanks for the info on your mods to the Xa. It was the straight driving that I was most curious about. I think I am going to go ahead and get a Hotchkis sway bar set and then wait & see with the springs. Maybe go with the TRD springs over the Hotchkis as I see they are not quite as stiff, but still an improvement over stock and lowers your rig by an inch. So much stuff availible to bolt on; I feel like a kid at Christmas looking through the toy catalog and circling items on all the pages!! lol
It is going to be a fun adventure.

Just my humble opinion:
I highly recommend Eibach.
They have the longest warranty & if you get the Pro-Kit, you'll still get a reasonable smooth ride.
We have a TRD-lowered XB at Oakbrook Toyota & it still has a decent ride with 18" wheels.
(I wouldn't be surprised if Eibach does the coils for TRD...)
You MIGHT actually notice more difference going to low-profile tires than you will from mild lowering springs

Thank you. I will take a look at the Eibachs. I definitely thought about the lower profile tires but I don't think I could swing tires/wheels right now. Is the lowered ride at Oakbrook someone's personal ride or one for sale?
