Nothing wrong with old Beetles. My first car was a kit car on a Beetle chassis. Super easy to work on, super reliable, and tons of fun. Actually, only about 1 ton of fun

I'm sure you already know this if you have done any beetle research, but the best year is a '71. If you can find a '71 Beetle with a 1600cc Dual Port, those were the most powerful Bugs and the '71 motor was built better than the later ones. '71 was the first year of the Dual Port motor.

 

They're starting to cut down on events over there, saying that the track would be fun if they didnt have as many restrictions. Moving on.

I have a couple dates.

Saturday Sept. 4th - lapping day.

Monday Sept. 6th - high speed autocross.

Well.. I may be moving out of the Scion scene. I literally get pulled over 2-3 times a week in my tC. Its just the town I live in but they are _______s and straight up told me they will pull me over everytime they see me. So it's either painting it a different color, moving, or buying a new car. Found an 05 STI in black with some nice mods for a great price. Test driving it on Thurs and I'll see what happens next.

I'm seriously getting pulled over for loud exhaust (I'm running open down pipe), tinted windows, tined tail lights, and no front license plate every time.

If I were you I would either stand your ground and not give a ____ if your not getting tickets, or fix what your getting pulled over for.

 

Well dude the other day they pulled me over because my front plate was tucked behind the front bumper. I have it in the middle part zip-tied but it tucks behind the lowest part. Completely visible. Pulled me over to tell me he could write me a $200 ticket. Said my exhaust is illegal and tints are iffy. Didn't get a ticket or anything its just a pain in the butt! They literally hunt me down now. See me and just find a way to get behind me and pull me over. Only in my hometown too.

Thats how my plate is displayed. Completely visible not a big deal fist time I've ever been hassled about it. BTW that Audi. Obviously illegal headlights and the tails are tinted to. I could be driving right next to him and he could be speeding and they would pull me first every time!

Insane great deal I'm going to drive it tomorrow. If I can get 11,500-13k for the tC its mine! I'd be willing to trade my c/f hatch for another SW one w/o a spoiler. And if things get serious I'll part out all my crap.

 

I feel your pain, in one month I was pulled over 18 times, not one ticket.
They would just pull me over, run my plates, look at my license and 45 min later, let me go

 

Exactly. In the past 14 days I've been pulled over 7 times. It's time to go back to 4 doors I think. I'm either looking at some WRXs or a couple GLIs. I love AWD but crave turbo. The only turbo GLI I could find was red. And thats defeating the purpose of staying away from a flashy car.

 

I had my license plate like that for a while.
It's illegal.
So I just took it out and left it out.

I haven't had any problems, however my car is stock.

I'll stick to modding my older cars, the cops tend to leave them alone. Only got one ticket in my RX7, for exhaust, and it got dropped. Nothing so far in the Belvedere...

 

If I could get a car right now for the range 0f 15k, Id go something like a 2002 BMW M3 or a 2005ish honda s2000. I love thoes cars

 

I seriously dunno how you guys keep getting tickets... I've should've gotten a dozen by now *knock on wood* haven't gotten a single ticket in 3yrs that i've had mine. Don't put the pity in there that I'm a girl and they won't pull me over thats just BS. I did have close calls but i've always kept my cool.

Yesterday morning on my way home from work; I had Pleasant Prairie cop follow me SO far away trying to hide. I kept going 5 over. He took the hint and did a "U". I love playing that game. Driving normal speeds & not like a jackass they seem to leave you alone.

Maybe you should donate money to "Wisconsin State Troopers Assocation." I was pulled over twice & let off with warnings. I also drive by them, they don't even bother to follow me. Hell, I even did 80 right in front of one on 94. Never bothered to pull me over. See my Dad did for few years and I truely believe they have that on file. Since my car is at his address; I think they gave slack.

IDK if you guys know this....

There's a WI State Trooper; his squad car is brand new navy blue Tahoe. Unmarked. With WI truck plates. Very tiny LED lights. It looks like a normal Tahoe you can buy from a dealer.

So be careful!

Yeah I can't drive like a dck my car is to low. Lol its been low and slow for awhile. It just attracts their attention like crazy and with the town I live in I can't afford it. To many tickets of any kind in a short period can make you a habitual offender. Then they revoke it and its the worst possible thing. I want an OEM turbo'd car and just upgrade. An STI would be sick right from the factory
