nope he said he was able to drive to the dealer with no oil yesterday, and when the dealer checked it out they found no leaks at all. He said he wasnt leaking anything. And your right Tao it just not right a new car with only 1600 miles and no oil. The only thing I can think of is maybe they only put 1qt in when they were putting hte oil in the car or something.

I think your right Pete. Brand New Cars should be able to run till 5000 to 6000 miles before an oil change. Not that you should wait that long, but that's the usual for brand new cars. Well good luck Cody...let me know ifyou need anything.

A little too extreme, don't you think? If there was no damage, I think a few free oil changes on top of the usual 3 should be in order.

A new car? Riiiiight

well i just got back, they actually told me that if i had been running it a little hard i.e hard acceleration from stop lights and whatnot it was possible that i burned up all my oil

since they didnt find any leaks or anything out of the obvious last night and doing a complete oil and filter change they just asked me to keep a close watch on it for the couple hundred miles and that if i burn a quart by 200 to bring it in for a complete check-up

the thing is on dont hear anything wrong w/ it, i dont smell anything, i dont have any puddles so im hoping they just didnt fill it all the way like pete said and i burned it all up

but i had like 3 guys this morning at the dealership tell me they really dont think anything is wrong and to just drive normally so....

lets just hope for the best : )

I know this is going to sound crazy, but they may have forgotten to put piston rings on your pistons when putting the engine together. It happened to a friend of mine. He had a brand new Monte Carlo and he had no leaks and no puddles. It was because they didn't install piston rings into his engine. They wanted to just plop a new engine into his Monte Carlo and he told them where to go. If they offer to put a new engine in the car tell them that you want a new car. If they put a new engine in the car it loses most if not all of it's value in a hurry.
I hope everything works out for you.
Good luck.

well, if they forgot a piston ring there would be a mess of oil everywhere in the engine. all they'd have to do is take off the valve cover to know
