Default Still need front plates :(

Just wondering if it is true that texas law chages this friday sept. 1 that allows us not to carry front plates. I hope so.

not sure the date of when it does but yes thats what the law was, it passed a month ago or so and goes into effect officially I thought it was sept 6th.

anywho it doesn't matter anyway plenty of people have been running without them for ever and a day (i took mine off in June, no problems) so whatever date is just for the books IMO.

i thought this was going to be about the law that says now COME OCT.1 you have to use a headset for your cell phone you can no longer drive with the phone to your ear..

and for the front plate law please show me where it says it in the books this law has been a speculation for years now........ i have fell for it plenty of times and all the officers i work with say no you still have to have it.... so please show me in the DOt book... thank you

Billy had been keeping up with it and he told me it passed last month or so.

and with how many vehicles i have seen without a front plate i got jealous and took mine off in June and i have had it off since then and I have gone passed many a cruiser without so much as a warning look.

I don't need another reason to get pulled over. I wish I had your luck man. I will wait until I read across it myself.

well i still see cars without them all the time. there are 3 tCs around here that dont have them (not even the holes for them)

and Billy had been keeping up with the most recent go for the no front plate thing and he said it passed and would go into affect this sept.

i have mine in the back seat though. if i get pulled over imma just be like, look i have it, the darn thing fell of back there and i dont have anything to put back on with me.

Ive been running without onr for over a year and was stopped just yesterday.
I just told the cop that the dealer never drilled out the holes in the front bumper. He asked if I had any weapons or drugs in the car. I said NO, I keep those at home.*so I was thinking*

He ran my plate and license and plate and let me go. He just walked off.

I wish they'd pass that law here. I don't have the holes drilled so I'm a lil afraid of getting pulled over. Wat shall I do??

onn the B they have bracket that bolt to your lower grille so you don't have to drill find them on ebay

The C could use the same but I would wait for them to post don't need to get flamed.

I've been running without my front plates since I got my tC last November. I've been pulled over once and the cop didn't say anything about it, even though he ran my VIN/plates and gave me a ticket. I left the front plates off for the same reasons: didn't want holes in my front bumper and it makes the overall look of the car infinitely more 'clean'

Just checked the TX DOT website...change in license plate requirement not listed as one of the new laws going into effect in Sept. Google search didn't find anything about the law changing. Only new law about license plates is a law preventing placing reflective material on plate.
