Default local dealers

Hi all, was just wondering what SOP is for people that want to test drive a car. Does someone from the dealership usually ride along? When I was test driving cars in 2004 after an accident, noone ever came along, but testdrove a new XB this weekend and the lady w/ the dealership came along.

Also, anyone in germantown/gaithersburg area have the new XB other than fitzgerald?

Oh and is it really better to put the car back to stock if trading in? I was offered a very dismal amt on my trade, even though we told them we had all the stock parts...

Any info on a RS for the 2nd gen? and does anyone know if AWD is going to be an option?

Thanks.

Hello, my name is zach and im a dealer (thompson toyota scion, see my profile) ... but a little bit of a drive for ya (about an hour... but well worth it to work with me... ask ashiva (mehr) on here, she did the same and was really happy.

anyway, to answer your questions:

1- it is recommended that the sales person rides with the customer on the test drive. some sales people dont because they dont want to feel as though they are bothering the customer, and other reasons. i believe they SHOULD ride with the person for many reasons that i wont get into detail about, but some of them are legal issues

2-Yes and No with scions. If you have aftermerket accessories, take them off and return that part to stock. If you have scion accessories, its your call to remove them or leave them on. They will probably NOT increase or decrease the valve of the trade in. So if you have the stock parts, i would remove the scion accessory, and put the stock one on, then sell the accessory on ebay or something like that.

3- Yes, their will be a RS 2nd gen xB, but it will be awhile, the current rumor is about a one year, maybe a little sooner, maybe a littler later

4- We do have a xB in stock =]

5- No, AWD wont be an option/accessory

if you have any more questions, let me know

Zach

They'll ask you for a drivers license prior to leaving the dealership with the sales person. Install your stock parts back. Then take it to Carmax Toyota in Laurel, MD. Good trade in value and give you an actual trade in offer in paper form good for 300 miles or 7 days which ever comes first. Dont tell any dealer that your vehicle has been modified.

*edited out of respect for the smaller dealerships*
