Default MD laws regarding cats/exhaust

I'm new to MD's laws, moved up here from GA where you can run anything anyway you want as long as it moves it can have a license plate.... that being said, I'm thinking about headers for my tC(warranty is keeping me from a turbo kit) but all headers for tC's remove the cat from what I've been told. Is there anyway around the MD laws? Any options? Any header that does NOT remove cat that I missed?

nope, there aren't any performance headers for the tc that come with a cat. so you would technically be illegal.

for your first emissions inspection in md, all your car has to pass is a obdII test where they just check to see if you have a check engine light. most headers cause this to happen unless you successfully install some sort of anti-fouler.

you could just keep your stock header on hand and swap it back in whenever you have to go for an inspection.
