Default Well....What you locals think about the 2008 Xb & Xd ??

As most of you all probably know by now Autoblog has leaked the pictures of the new Xb & Xd. http://www.autoblog.com/2007/02/07/c...-leaked-early/

I think the new Xb is pretty tight....I kinda like it. Ecspecially like the idea that it will be sharing the same engine as the TC.
The new Xd looks like a Yaris on steroids....not my taste

Hey TC-Dragon,
I like it, there are a lot of styling cues from the T2B concept car from two years back. It's hard to judge from the pictures, I'm trying to work it out to go to the Cleveland Auto show at the end of this month. The new Scions are supposed to be there. We'll see.

Default xb

IMO it was born with a flat face and now died with a flat face. Scion strayed too far from the original recipe that set it apart. The aerodynamics of a brick is what drew me to the car in the first place. But, I do like some of the new features of the car (motor, headlights, bulkier interior).
I suppose it will have to grow on all of us though.

Toyota/Scion didn't go as far as reinventing the wheel, but when they emerge with these two vehicles on the lots they will be reinventing the entire brand. Is Gen-Y still their target?

I'd say in the looks department they struck out looking.

Some of the features, however, are very nice. But looks alone eliminates both new models from my to do list.

And if the xB's price goes up too much, there will come a point where the FJ is the better value.

Generation Y was the supposedly the projected target.

The real buyers: The baby boomers.

ive seriously seen more old people drive xb's than anyone else

Default New xB...

I think it's a sad cross between the Highlander and the Element. They are abandoining what the xB was all about, in my opiniion.

The new xB isnt that bad, its still a box, just a bit more curvy. I still like the first gen xB's we all have better.

The xD is ok, it looks like a squashed version of the 2007 Honda Life from Japan http://www.batfa.com/newcar-hondalife.htm

the xd looks like a nissan versa or a matrix or maybe a yaris or soemthing.

the xb. it's nice but I don't like it that much. The gear shift on the console reminds me of a honda. Blah I think toyota scion dropped the ball somewhat on this one. the one good thing is a better engine which shoulda been offerred in this current version of the xb.

i'm not dissapointed, they kept the keep it different concept... but i do have to say i like my xb much much better, after the xb im probably going to yaris or honda fit i don't want to drop from the scion lineup so hopefully in a few more years they'll have something even better.

I like the Xb and Xd...I also agree that i am glad they share the same engine my car has. The lack of hp is the reason I didnt get an xB when I originally test drove the cars...Of course I am not even thinking about anything UNTIL like 2012 or something LOL. on a side now Sujeel i saw my old car the other day. IT HAD TO BE IT...

I hate how they've ruined the xB.

I like the xD, though.

I agree with pretty much everyone. The styling is nowhere near as agressive as I would like to see out of a Scion...

Heres another quick question. What is with Scions obsession with center mounted gauges? I noticed the new xB has them also....
