Default Breack in period is almost over after a trip to Madison, WI

Hi guys, my odometer reads over 850 now. I just had a trip to Madison last weekend and put over 500 miles on it. Since the manual says: vary the speed in the break in period, I drove at 60 MPH to 90 MPH on the hwy, mostly around 70MPH to follow the traffic. The engine has over 4000 Rev when the speed is 90MPH. It is not too noisy when at 90MPH.

Does any one push their xB to higher speed during the break in period? Is it good to the engine?

Don't beat it but it isn't bad for it to go fast or anything. They run the motors like crazy in the factory before they put it in the car to make sure that everything is working right. You can't do anything to it that they havn't allready. Other than not putting in oil or something like that.

There is no break in period on scions. The engine comes broken in from the factory.

Thank you all. My speedometer reads 1100 now. I don't have to worry about it no matter whether it had a break in.

I enjoy every second on the road now.

Break in period is a myth. You should drive that thing like you are going to drive it everyday.

I'm glad you enjoy your xB so far. Looks like you already have more miles on it than me and I got mine about 2 weeks before you. I'm sitting at about 1050 miles.
