Default SO Irritated...need advice.

So, I've been researching the XB for over a year, and decided to purchase one a lit tle over 3 weeks ago. I ordered an rs3.0, and the salesperson told me he'd have it to me in 3-5 weeks. I was hoping to not have to wait that long, but oh well...at least I'd get my xb. Well, this morning, 3 weeks and 5 days into my order, a different salesperson calls me. Apparently the salesperson who sold me the car, no longer works with them, but theres some good news, the salesperson said the car has been ALLOCATED to them now, and I have another 4-6 weeks to wait!

I've already charged $250 on my credit card, so confirm my order, but at this point I'm really wanting to cancel. I'd rather call over the place, and drive how ever long I have to so I can get this vehicle. Any chance the dealer is gonna cancel this for me, if it's already been allocated to them? This really bothers me because I've been so excited...that I was expecting a call any day here to go pick up my xb, but now It looks like I've got over a month to wait.

Yea, it's bull. I sold MY car for the down payment on this car, little did I know instead of 3-5 weeks I have to way nearly 11 weeks. Anyone know of a dealership near MN with an rs3.0 on the lot?

You can cancel and get your money back anytime up to the last minute. If you can find what you want at a dealer you like who can deliver sooner, there's no reason not to cancel.

The car is not yours until you actually drive it off the lot. You don't HAVE to buy it just because they ordered it.

Getting a refund on your deposit is different. In most cases it should be a refundable deposit. If not, be glad you only put down $250.

Good Luck

yes you can cancel it. the same thing happened with me when i went to buy the 2.0 when they were the hot item. i told me 4 weeks wait, which i had no problem with, then added another 6-8 weeks after the 4 weeks had passed. i looked and looked for one close, but no luck. i ended up getting an '06 PW xB, and i didnt even ask for it, but the dealership even threw in some small items for my trouble like the under dash lights, and the iPod HU.

i really kinda wish i would have waited, but hey im happy either way.

first... you should have searched for a dealer that had a car you wanted rather than wait.

second..when the dealer said it was allocated to them, it is on its way from japan. (shipping takes time).

i would keep my order at this dealer until you are sure of finding another. RS cars are not that easy to come by...
when you are sure of another dealer having it, the first dealer will refund your money with no problems (call scion corp if they do)

I have to agree....you can definitely get your money back but don't cancel your order unless you know for sure that another dealer can get one. Ask them if it is allocated or being shipped. These cars are taking a long time once they get to port because that is where they are putting all of the SE stuff on. That is probably why it is 6-8 weeks still. Usually from port it should be only like 4 weeks or so
