For those in NY :

Has anyone had any troubles during inspections with, 3rd brake light being blacked out with vinyl overlays or tailights being overlayed as well... Just curious if its worth buying vinyl overlays from Bluebat or if im just gonna get hassle about it when I get my car inspected...

Im sure I could buy another set of tailights for cheap, but if I didnt have to uninstall them once a year I wouldnt mind it... I was more concern with the 3rd brake light anyways...

Do a search on your states DMV and you will see what is allowed. My gut feeling would be that you would have a problem.........

 

Years ago when I had my 91 talon. A NJ town cop pulled me over and wanted to give me a hassle. I had GTS blackouts on my tails and gave me a ticket for illegal modification to an exterior light.

I'd imagine it shouldn't be a problem as long as its cleanly done so it looks like it should be there and its not too dark.
