I have not got the ticket (and I hope not too), but I just don't want to be driving in a non Florida state, (see, MOST of the police down here in SUNNY SOUTH FLORIDA, understand the need for tint, and as long as they can see in, they don't bug you...), and then be pulled over, and told I have to peel my front windshield tint.
Now, I am going to be very careful this trip, so as to not give the Long Arm of Johnny Law any reason to pull me over in the first place. But one never knows, does one?
(BTW, as a Preacher, I am used to getting the questions...now the shoe is on the other hand, so it would seem...)
Thanks for your time. Do the other police folks know you do this, and if so, what do they think of you giving the other side tips?
I only state the facts in this forum. I don't give out tricks or scams that someone may use to beat the system.
Many Police personel including my Captain know about this forum. He's happy that I share truthfull information with you guys.
The more you know the better your chances of not falling into violation with the Law. It's true that some may ignore the information and do illegal things anyways but they can't say they didn't know the Law.
The reason of this thread is to better inform drivers of the Law and clear the many "MYTHS" that have been spread out.
I have also learned a lot from your questions. In many cases I have had to look things up or ask specialized Officers for information regarding your questions. So you see the information helps both of us.

Scion Cop/Eddie,
Over the past 3 days I have read all 25 pages of this thread. Many interesting, and hilarious stories. Also, the information has been extremely helpful.
On to my question:
I am picking up my tC RS 1.0 in Absolute Red tonight. I have my own perceptions as to why this is true, but why is "RED" the most likely to get pulled over and/or to be wrecked? I've heard some possible "myths" as to why this is true, but I figured that I would get it straight from the pig's mouth.....OOPPSS I mean "horse's" mouth---Just a little humor.

Congrats Eddie,
I too am a Police Officer here in Arizona. Very interesting the people you meet driving Scions. I must applaud you for responding too all questions asked. I get asked all kinds of questions from my Scion peeps here in Az. Yea, I also get the Cop Haters every once in awhile. What most don't understand is that we are people too. I have fun on my days off. It is unfortunate as you know, that the bad cops give us good cops a bad name. My motto is "treat others like you would like to be treated." It has worked for me over my last 15 years in law enforcement. I know you will enjoy your new Scion, they are so much fun. Be careful out there Eddie. Here are some pics of our RS 2.0 #214.

scioncop and subyellow, I am honestly the guy that hates cops due to the ones that treated me unfairly. To be completely honest with you subyello has made the most valid point of all and I must say I respect him for that. I don't like cops in uniform, but on their time off they are just people and are cool, I have no issues with them and they don't have any issues with me, we treat eachother with the same respect, but he realizes that cops that feel they are above the law meaning they can treat people unfairly and get away with it, which they generally do, make many of the model police officers look bad. I applaud you for realizing that, and not saying that all cops are right, or that all cops are good, even though it wasn't a direct statement, and acknowledging the fact that being an officer is a profession, not a god given right of power.
BUSTED!
Got pulled over tonight while cruising on the highway. I was on my way home from changing my oil to Mobil 1 at a friends house when I get pulled over...Funny part is, I was exhausted, and I was just following the car in front of me in the fast lane...cruisin' along. I guess the RED tC was more appealing than the GOLD Beamer in front of me. 76 in a 50 was the radar verdict. I followed EVERY piece of advise in this forum, and I still got the ticket. Guess you can't get away EVERY time without a ticket.
I just wish ScionCop was the person pulling me over...maybe I would've had a better chance of skatin' on this.
I am not a speeder, but I guess I was going pretty good this time...
Oh yeah, anyone that knows a PA State Trooper that can provide any help with this, I would be eternally greatful.

You can still contest the ticket and try to get a reduced fee or contribution instead of paying the ticket. If you opt for the contribution oyu may avoid getting the points against your license.

Thanks. I might try to do that. Although, I'm not sure about the contribution thing...if I recall from the forum, that's in addition to the fine?
Also, I'm not sure if PA does something like that or not...but I guess I could go see the magistrate to find out.

ScionCop,
When I contest the ticket, what types of things should I say to get a reduced fee and/or no points?
Also, how often does an officer not show up for a hearing? My guess would be not very often because of the overtime pay involved.
I know to dress well, and speak well in order to present myself as good person (which I truly am). Anything else?

Capt Boomer just present yourself well and ask the prosecutor in the initial interview if there is an option for the contribution instead of the fine.
Truth is that no one wants to go to trial and will work with you to expedite the situation. Let them know if you have a clean record and if you have financial difficulties too.
Cops troopers are summond to court so most likely they will be there. At least in Ct this would apply. Check things out you may be surprised. Call ahead of time and try to speak to a prosecutor from the court.
