On March 24th there will be a Candle Light Vigil at 6pm for the OPD (Oakland Police Department) officers who lost their life........we will meet at the parking lot at Eastmont Mall 73rd and MacArthur at 5pm so we can try to save spots for those who are running late, coming from work or stuck in traffic.........sorry dont know that mall to well so dont know what building that is

We are here for you Brad and Love Ya......

Please say a prayer for Brad's fellow Officer's families:

"All gave some, some gave all"

SGT Erv Romans - a former Marine Corp Drill Instructor, one heck of tactician, Officer, Range Master, and SWAT team SGT. He was my fellow Academy classmate, medaled in the Police Olympics w/ an Ar-15 rifle I built for him,was like a brother to me, and I WILL MISS YOU Erv!!!!!!!

Yes, Brad, we ARE here for you & we love ya bunches.
I will see everyone tomorrow! & SORRY FOR THE HUGE PICTURES!!!

For those of you who are NOT familiar with the area. Eastmont Oakland Police Department is located in the Eastmont Mall.

This is the address:
2651 73rd Avenue
Oakland, CA 94605
-- If you Google map & street view, you can see the surrounding building. --

There are TWO levels of parking, if you accidentally enter through lower level parking, go straight & you will end up in the upper level parking, just go past McDonald's. Be careful and not go into the drive thru unless you want to.

For those coming from I-580 E&W:
I'm unsure of the exit, but when you arrive on 73rd Ave., everything will be on your right. For upper level parking, enter BEFORE McDonald's, for lower level parking enter AFTER Oakland Police Department building. Just follow the pictures.

For those coming from I-880 N&S:
Police department is on the LEFT right before McDonald's.

For the lower level it will be on the 1st left after the light:

For the UPPER level, it will be on the 1st left right after McDonald's:

Matthew 5:9

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God"

Psalm 144

Blessed [be] the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, [and] my fingers to fight:
My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and [he] in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.

Love, sorrows, joy, and prayers to the officers and their families.

My heart goes out to you from the east coast. I would love to be there if I could. I lost a best friend who was a police officer last year.

God bless those officers and their families.

Minus one small group of people who felt the need to voice their displeasure at something completely unrelated... it was a wonderful event. I don't think there were any dry eyes around and the warmth and love that the residents of Oakland showed made me much less hesitant to return to Oakland. Hopefully the healing will begin. For those who are interested the funeral service is open to the public on Friday at the Coliseum.

Thank you for posting this Jacki!! As soon as I can figure out how to get the photos off my phone, I have 2 non blurry photos. One of the lineup of Police motorcycles, and a good lineup of the drum lineup.
