Slap In The Face
Today i went to Mike Harvey Acura to trade in my Scion. It was an 04 xA with a widebody kit and various other mods. 1st off they tried to seel me the car i wanted for 3,000 more that the advertised price they showed on their website, so i called the guy out on that. Then it came time to get my car appraised. I was told it is un-sellable and that they would give me what i owe on it, a whopping $3100. So id advise anyone to steer clear of mike harvey acura when buying a car. Not only did they try to trick me into paying wayyy more than what they advertised, they dis-respected the Scion name by giving the low ball offer of the year

Yea its a fair outlook. I wouldnt want to sit on a car. But hes sitting on a $15,000 2002 car that needs premium gas , when he could be sitting on my gas friendly $9000 car. The money was in his favor. I also think it was because i did my research and corrected him quite a few times on the cars features vs the other years i was looking at. And from my retail managemnt expierence I know that no adult aged 35-55 likes being corrected my a 25 yr old that looks 18. But needless to say fear of sitting on a car and giving an insulting price are two extremes. A simple" Sorry man, what I can afford to offer you is so low that I wont even ask and tell you good luck on finding a buyer on your car". To me politeness goes a long way. When I got my Scion 3 years ago at Walnut Creek Scion, the service was perfect. In fact when i asked why get my xA and not a Civic he said good question, theyre about the same in features what does your gut instinct tell you that youll enjoy. Sorry for the long rant but im still in shock on the offer and missing a chance to get a car from that dealer that was way under-priced that I loved .
I just traded in my 2005 xB with 24k miles on it up here in WA for a tC, I got about 11k for it and the dealer turned it into a certified used scion and sold it for 16,900 all in under two weeks.
As for the xA they are hard for Scion to sell so the used ones are even harder. One of the guys up here just got a used Honda S2000 about 3 months ago. His xA is still on the lot and they just dropped the price they were asking. http://autos.yahoo.com/usedcars/deta...Nzej05ODAwMQ--
They should give you at least the Kelly Blue Book trade in value anything below that is not right. They can always just wholesale the car to another dealer and get their money back.
