Dear California DMV:

How dare you require front license plates? Many states do not give them out why do you? Also why do you charge 100 dollars to get a salesperson license? People get jobs because they don't have money.

Dear SFPD:

I know you have better things to do than give me a fix it ticket for not having a front license plate. Why do you insist on wasting my time when you can clearly earn my tax dollars by breaking up a domestic disturbance, stopping a drug sale, or preventing gang activity. Instead you must give me a fix it and make me drive 45 minutes to SF to spend an hour finding parking, and ten minutes getting the ticket signed off.

Dear CalTrans:

Please repave exit 52B on I-580. It's a problem when I'm scared to take the exit to my house because of the massive pothole on the off-ramp. I'm not asking to repave the entire freeway, JUST REPAVE THE EXIT IT SO I DON'T DIE DOWN THE STREET FROM MY HOUSE!

Thanks for keeping it alive!

dear rivas,

WA requires a front plate also. at least when you guys buy a car theres no temp tag required so you can drive around without any plates/tags at all.

OK, I haven't really felt like I had a reason to post in this thread previously, but now I do!

Dear idiot who decided to hit my car and leave,

I wanted to say thank you. Thank you for scraping my car, leaving a nice scratch completely through the paint on my rear bumper. Oh yeah, you also hit the jackpot and even put a good scratch on the lip of my rear wheel! Now, before I can even think of selling my car, I need to have my bumper re-painted. And let's see . . . after the expense of Christmas, and as I am trying to save as much as possible for that BMW I want, I can only hope that the body shop will cut me a good deal. As much as I try to park out in BFE to prevent door dings and things like this, when I had no choice on where to park, this happens. I know you probably left without as much as a note to say 'I'm Sorry' cause you don't have insurance. I know you're probably also driving some POS in which case, why insure it anyways right? I'm sure you're thinking, "Let those people out there with nice cars pay for insurance cause then they're covered, even if I do something to their car." You know I also realize that the spots in the Pink Coconut/Little Ceasar's parking lot in Lakewood are small, but if you can't pull in ( or out ) of a parking spot without clipping another vehicle, maybe you shouldn't be on the road. So with this, I have learned a lesson: when I get said BMW, I will NEVER be parking in that lot ( or any other tight spaced parking lot ) again. Thanks again for the great learning experience!

I don’t know about the temp tag requirement. But when I purchased my Honda back in 2001 in California, while I was living in WA I drove it for six months with the temp tag and they mailed my California plates to WA it was hella funny. Everyone kept asking me why I didn't have plates yet.

I have not been pulled over for not having a front plate yet knock on wood even when I went to visit California the last three times. Maybe one of these days….

Dear Evette,

I'm sorry to hear about your car.

Dear MNScion,

You're welcome. We all need a good whine once in a while, lol.

Dear Infamous,

you're right. At least we don't have those temp tags.

Dear Evette,

I too am sorry about the car. People need IQ and other more stringent intelligence exams before they get their license.

Dear Jenna,

OMG thank you for this thread. I think I might have to move to the PNW. I mean people who actually acknowledge the need to complain! I swear people here in Cali just don't understand. (there's no sarcasm in this either, I really am glad I found this thread)

The rain isn't a worry. I lived in Florida and I've seen rain where all you see out your car was you wipers. I kinda scared of Starbucks actually. I hear it's like the herp or something over in WA.

I believe you may be right about Starbucks contagion in this area, Donald.

When I worked in downtown Seattle my favorite latte stop (espresso cart) had a sign on the side...

Last chance for espresso!
Next espresso 300 feet...
That is a long long distance between espressos in Seattle... :D

I like you, you can definitely stay!

I should take a picture of the espresso stand down the road from me. It is literally in the middle of farm land, in front of some lady's house. I tried to move the little icon thing to exactly where it was on this map...

http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&q=...-8&sa=N&tab=wl

... but it wouldn't let me save it that way. Anyhow, if you care to look, it's just below the green peg on south part of Florence Rd. It's a little blurry but there's a white square in front of a house there.... that's it. That's a flipping espresso stand in the middle of no where.[/url]
