Default Going into see doctor thursday

Some know and most do not.......Sunday night I think I might of possibly have had a minor heart attack or something went wrong in my chest,my entire left side went numb and as of today,it is still numb in my entire left arm.......and am having a hard time seeing lately......and I am in a constant pain in my back, side, chest, and arm,and neck.....

I am on aspirin right ,taking it easy, not smoking and not drinking or having any coffee now till tomorrow when I see the doctor and start testing.......

I seem to be ok right now,but still in pain, maybe a constant 5 on a scale of 10.....

I have been under a huge amount of stress with the separation, work, money, and life.......

I have extremly high blood pressure and although I do not think they will put me into hospital for it,the last time it was this high they put me in hospital,I was 25 then.......

Please do not worry,if anything is wrong it will get taken care of.......I have insurance, and a little money in the bank so I should be fine......bills are paid, and work is covered.......

I just want to let everyone know so that it is not a rumor out there, and I am sure I will be ok once they get me some meds and possible other stuff done......

what kind of shape are you in physically? seems strange that you would be having heart problems at 39. is there anything else other than stress that would contribute to this? family history?

i hope you all the best. wish you a speedy recovery and take care of yourself.

Thanks for sharing that... I, as the rest here know... that is something very personal... We'll keep you in our thoughts...and hope that the doctors will be able to find the cause and fix...or at least be able to minimize anything that has already happened.

Keep us posted if you are able... and God's speed for recovery

yeah there is family history of high blood pressure, heart issues.......

Started smoking at 10 years old, since that time only not smoked for 3 years, and picked it back up last April again, also was a meth addict for about 7 years back in the day, high quality, high dosage, and it did a lot of damage as well to my body.......

feeling ok right now,no energy but feeling ok......will be happy for first time ever to see a doctor.......lol.

Been under a lot of stress since about July, wife moved out,kid is a nightmare, job sucks, best friend died, money got really tight, crappy holidays, not eating right, smoking way too much the last 4 months, almost 2 packs a day for some of it.......

I already have some serious lung issues from all the years of smoking so this is the next thing that is in line,I am also about 40 lbs over weight and have not exercised in years.......

I am sure everything will work out fine,I am a bit worried, those years of smoking may have caught up with me......

well here's a positive note for you....
If you quit smoking, if a lot of damage hasn't been done... the lungs are one organ in the body that will actually start to repair itself over time.
And as far as the stress over the past year... I know it isnt easy...but to help reduce the negative stress on the body, try remembering this....
Learn to worry/concentrate on those things in life that you have control over to change... and not stress as much about the things that you dont have any control over.

Take care of yourself, Brian - you don't want to end up like me.

If the med types tell you to do something, do it - no back talk.

Keep us informed.

You should have my cell number, but just in caase, I'm PMing it right now.

Brian, Take an easy man, you are heading down the same road I went down! when i was going through the same stuff you are. I got this real bad pain right in the middle of my back for about a week and a half and BANG!!!! felt like some big **s hand hit me from the bag side and down I went hit the floor, then found out I had a heart attact. then one month later I had a stroke, got tested and found out that I have several miny strokes a month, then I had a nother stroke, had to take all kinds of meds, the heart attact was from stress of loosing my wife and having to sale the home that I just put 4 and a 1/2 years remodling, and trying to take care of 2 grandkids, no sleep and living on energy drinks like a six pack a day of them and being moved to grave yard and having a sleep disorder. don't mind my spelling..... Take care and call me and or come over and hang out play some pool or darts...

That sounds exactly like what is going on,the chest pain is not what is scaring me,it is the numbness in my left side that is really weird and caught my attention the most.....

Just a quick update...

I just talked with Brian, and it isn't a heart attack, but some other stuff going on: Angina and COPD...

He's going in for more tests to determine exactly what is causing what, , so this is about all they know at this time.

If Brian weren't up to his eyeballs in being busy getting this sorted out, he'd probably be posting this up himself (I got his permission to post this).

Hey guys.......well good news is not heart attack, but Angina which is the plaque in the artieris pluging the heart form gettign oxygen and causing pain,it is what leads to heart attacks,I also have COPD,and am on my way to emphazema if smoking continues.....doctor said lungs sound very bad......

Got a crap load of meds to take now, took my nitroglycerine a littel while ago, some of the chest pain went away,it makes you feel funny, but I am gonna do what they say.

Got me on Advair to help my lungs get oxygen to me better and also Chantix for the stoping of smoking.......

Got appointment with cardio specialist set up and xrays done,so will know more once I get done with that doctor as to what is going on better.

Also since I had not eaten this morning I was able to do the blood tests for cholestoral and all that fun stuff and they are also gonna test for other issues that can be found in the blood that pertain to heart and lungs........

So god news is I am on the right track, may be a long road still,or may jsut be a matter of no smoking, losing weight, eating right, less beer, less caffeen, and some exercise......
