Just a note...
Well, just wanted to give a quick update here. Shirley had a PET scan last week and we talked to the doctor today about the results. He said that there are still active cancer cells in the lymph nodes so he is sure that its still active in the bone marrow. He wants her to see a specialist at OHSU to get a second opinion and see what he recommends. Her doctor told her that they could end up doing stem cell transplant or bone marrow transplant. Shirley is not taking this news too well, and only two days before her birthday. So, thats where we are right now, waiting for more tests to take place, and more appointments to be made.
Hang in there Robbie. She will need all the support you can give her (I know you know that) Let her know there are a lot of people out here pulling for her and she is in our prayers.
Robbie if there's anything at all you guys need please don't hesitate to let me know. I'm good for anything you guys may need from dog sitting and walking to helping clean house.
One day at a time.
One day at a time.
Well, she had her last chemo treatment a few weeks ago and now they want to give her a rest before they do anything more. She has had her lifetime max of one of the meds they wer giving her. It scars the heart tissue, so they can't do anymore of that drug. They are talking about doing another bone marrow biopsy and PET scan in the next month or so and see how things look. They can then decide if they are going to watch it or treat it with something diff. Transplant is not out of the question, but they don't want to rush into that just yet. So, for now its one doctors appt. at a time.
Robbie let me say it again, anything I can do please let us know, Erik and I are available for anything from car washing, oil changes, grocery picking up, dog sitting, gutter cleaning, I don't care. If there is ANYTHING either of us can do to make your lives just a little easier, please, please let me know.
got a 16 yr old you can take to guam with you, lol, j/k. Everything is going good here, she is feeling tired alot, but thats from the chemo and will get better with time. Yes, her hair came back good, but is now coming out a little from the last two chemos, so we will see how it looks in a month, lol. Her spirits are up, she had a blast at the car show and hopes to get more time off for other shows and gtg's this summer. Thanks alot everyone for your prayers and thoughts, it means alot to us.
