So here is my situation:
I came back from school at WSU after not having driven my car since spring break back in march to find that my rear hatch isn't cooperating. I went on a drive out to woodenville to meet with some friends and i could hear my hatch making the noise of trying to unlock and relock. i though at first it was my keys bumping together hitting the unlock button, but when i held them all apart the sound persisted. so i went to the back of my car and tried to open it and it wouldn't even budge! this was VERY irritating because i have never had this issue before. today i took my car to my friends house down the road who is a pretty good mechanic. we took apart the back of the hatch and looked at the motor. we cleaned it out with some of this cleaner (can't remember what it's called) to see if it was just a faulty contact. while the hatch was open and it was just us manually locking the rear hatch and then pressing the unlock button, it worked flawlessly. this was not the case when we closed the rear hatch and tried opening it with the hatch closed. at this point we went inside and did some research on the internet and all we found is that it can either be the motor, relay, fuze in the fuze box, or the computer. getting some new motivation, we went back out to look into replacing the fuze in the fuze box. the discription of the tC wiring manual on scionlife.org gave us some weird but sort of helpful on what fuzes were which, but we ended up giving up in frustration after working on it for close to 3 hours.
so can anyone help me with this? i really want this to get fixed because it causes the "open door" light to turn on in my dash on top of the persistent locking and unlocking noise. if anyone is willing to come up here to monroe and help then i can pay you for your work in money or beer and food (whatever your preference).
