Default need sub advice

I just bought a bassforms sub enclosure and i need some help from the likes of CJ or any other sub enthusiasts.

I got an Alpine MRP m450 amp which puts out 400 rms at 2 ohms so i want something that is 2 ohms so i have more usuable power with it.

Please help and if you know any places to get the suggested sub let me know too.

Thanks

i am thinking maybe an alpine type-S sub or maybe one of the new Pioneer champion series sub. But i was also doing a lil research on memphis audio and boston acoustic. I dont want ED subs cause they crapped out on me way to soon.

main question is...how much do you want to spend. Without that figure..then its hard to suggest something, really.

Also, sound quality, or just LOUDNESS, there is a big difference.

JL Audio, you cant really go wrong, how ever they do cost a bit. The alpine type s is not a good sub imo, others may disagree.

Also, which size of subs can the box handle? And number of subs?

bassforms box has enough airspace for a 7" deep sub so you are limited by what you can put in it.........

memphis car audio ftw! =) with that power a power reference will suffice unless you want to spend $ on a M class =)

Here are my recommendations:

Phoenix Gold RSD Competition Sub - http://www.amazon.com/Phoenix-RSDC10...802049&sr=1-19

Boston Acoustics G5 Series - http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...s+G510-44.html

Diamond Audio D6 Series - http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...09+Model-.html

JL audio W3 Series - http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...+10W3v3-2.html

These are subs that I've had first hand experience with and have both good output and sound quality. I'm personally biased towards the Boston's since I own the 12 inch version. The good thing about them is that you can purchase a passive radiator and it can increase the output of the subwoofer without increasing the size of the enclosure. It is also field repairable which can give you the option of custom painting it and easily fixing it should you blow it. I have not heard Memphis audio but they also get good reviews and their new cones look sexy as hell.

Hope that helps you out.

Thanks CJ i will look into those recommendations. Also the passive radiator has to be in the same enclosure though! I only have a single enclosure and i use my truck space alot so i think i am just gonna settle on the one sub.

Well CJ i checked out the ones you suggested. Most of those are out of my power range. Plus they are 4 ohm and i want 2 ohm.

I found this Diamond audio one where i can easily power it which will help my amp last longer and plus it has better sensitivity than the sq10 which will be nicer.

But here are a few others i am looking at.

Oh and maybe memphis power reference but the description makes it seem like its just for loud bass. I want the sub to hit throughout the range and and do it well and last!!

those subs i recommended were dual 4ohms and when wired correctly, will be 2ohms. don't worry too much about underpowering them. they're only off by 100 or so watts rms.

Just realized those 2 subs you were looking at are dual 2ohms. Since you are only running 1 10" sub, you can only wire those to 1ohm or 4 ohm. Make sure to look for single voice coil 2ohm or dual voice coil 4ohm.
