Official Project Green Picture Thread Updated 4/29
Okay, so due to the amount of request for photos and a feeling there will be a mutiny if I don't post anything soon. Here are some pics of Project Green. We just finished the doors a few days ago, and it will be going back under the knife tomorrow and getting some more green on it. I will grab some pictures when I get back from school.
For those of you saying, "wait Kirby, the car has been in the shop for almost a month this is all thats done"? Rest assured, there was other work being done besides painting. First was fixing the rear quarter panels since they were so bad, a long with some other small projects that had to be completed before we started painting.
Also, most of you know this by now. But, we scrapped the body kit. It is a horrible quality kit, plus realizing that someone else has the same kit in almost the same color in the PNW we are deffinatly not doing it now.
Also, thanks to Jenn (Avonladyjenn) there will be some nice 19" 5AD X5:F, stealth Chrome rims sitting on the car when it is done.
Also, thanks everyone who has helped so far. Andrew (Meatcutter523, I believe), Rick Smith (Rsmith), Carl and Terry (Mad_Scionist001) for their work with just about everything. And of course Brian and Cindy (BZinn1) for all of the late night phone calls and random questions.
Also, thanks to the Sponsors. Vertical Doors, Fujita and Viniati. You guys have been a huge help too.
But, back to the reason for this thread:
After body work was done and prep for painting began.

First coat of paint.

Vertical Doors installed

Start on false floor for trunk. What an ordeal, but it better be worth it. LOL

Wheels going on the car.

So I just returned from painting. We are now inbetween 1/2 and 3/4 of the way done. You can start to see the lines we are going to use. Its coming together nicely.

Okay, so we are nearing the end of the project. No new paint yet, but we are working on where we our lines will be going.
We have the broken CF hatch on there while the new one is shipped, and the Viniati Spoiler which is pretty sick looking. Slowly it is getting put back together.
Heres a quick peek. :-)

3/12 After months of just sitting at the garage. Work has begun again.

3/15
The tC has made a complete 180 degree turn in the past couple of days. Everything except for the RS3 Kenstyle kit is painted, the kit still needs to be pick up on the 28th, but everything else is getting close to done. Finally after months of no work, things are picking up. Don't tell anyone I said this, but it may even be ready by next weekend. :-)

3/24
So just got back from the shop and things are starting to be put back together.
I can't wait for the glass to be found and put on the CF hatch cause the back will be complete. Well minus the speaker stuff.
The mirrors got painted the wrong color, so those will be going under the gun tomorrow then the RS3 kit on Monday or Tuesday. Other than that, this baby is pretty close to done finally.

Here is the sub enclosure, almost completely done.

3/27
So Project Green is almost complete. Everything is in except for the RS3 Kit. Today the glass is being installed on the rear hatch and the fenders, headlights, front bumper and hood were installed. Basically the front of the car is back together.
Fenders, bumper and headlights installed.

Better view of mirrors and lines used on the car

Hood is reinstalled and being adjusted.

4/3
Okay the next step is done. Finally somoene broke down and bought a new glass for my hatch and installed it.
Yesterday it got put onto the vehicle and is coming together nicely.

The lip kit is being primered and ready to be painted.

4-8
So Project Green is on the 5-yard line of being done. Only things left is finishing up some loose wiring, doing a little touch up painting and installing the stainless steel brake lines.
It will be ready for the M&G next weekend for the medford folks, then it's time for the interior work.
Heres pics though.
Ohh to let everyone know, the vehicle is still lifted off the ground. So that is not the true fender gap.

8/21
So no new photos, the car looks exactly the same. Still waiting on the brake lines that Rotora said was sent last week and the HID kit. Other than that this thing is done.
Just need to plan my days right so it isn't raining when I pick it up.
Here are some photos from a few days ago.
Viniati CF Spoiler and yes the fender gap will be going away as soon as the painting is finished.

4/28
So ... the car is done. Well 99% done, rotora finally sent out the brake lines and they will be here this afternoon or tomorrow. So either tomorrow or Friday they will be installed and the final stages begin. Washing and buffing the car out, if there are no scratches or imperfections then it will be out of the shop by next week.
Here are some quick photos I shot today, nothing fancy since the only thing new is the HID bulbs.

I do have an extra kit down here, but since Rick has it now. I think it would be unfair to him for us to both have the same kit, since we are the only tCs that show down in this area.
If I could do it over again though ... LOL

OMG that thing was so messed up. The radiator was smashed into the motor, and the engine was just jacked up. But they wanted to fix it, LOL. Beware if you buy a blue-gray odyssey from Oregon. LOL
