Default Rear Bumper Scratch- $$ Estimate and Suggestions?

So... I *just* got my car back from the shop after being rear ended like a month ago, and already someone has scratched up my rear bumper (presumably while parallel parking). Any guesses on how much it might cost to have it painted, or suggestions about where to go?

The above image shows the general location

And this is the closeup. It's not bad, but I *just* got it back as i said and i'd really like to have it in pristine conditions.

Suggestions? Comments?

is it just paint damage? no actual structure dmage to the cosmetic bumper?

if it's only paint damage, you can get it looking "decent" but not pristine again. apon close look you'll be able to tell where they fixed the scratches. that is if you jus to a touch up. theres also an option where you can have just that side sanded down, repaintedand finished but that it could be a shade off then the rest of the bumper or last option is repaint to the whole thing.

if you want pristine condision and the bumper it's self has nicks and dents in it, then it can be about $300-400 i think being you'r working with just white if you need to replace the cosmetic bumper aswell. if you don't have any nicks and dings in the bumper and it looks fine to you, the paint job could be about $250 or so for the whole bumper. these were estimates i was givin a while ago by the Tacoma Titus Will's paint and body shop. be lucky you'r in a white TC and not a TCM xB... TCM for my front bumper is about $380-420 depending on how much is needed.

Yea to me it looks like its just paint damage and no structural damage to the bumper.

Ouch- even though I know what's involved in auto paint, it's still amazing the cost.. for such a tiny scratch you can be repainting the whole bumper.

total suck.

he would still have the outlining of the two paints and it would look like the scratches were just covered up.

for example, Tacoma Titus Will put scratches on my spoiler when i went and did an oil change. i came out to a washed car and when i got home and started drieing it off, i saw the nicks. so i went and had them fix it. the nicks are still there, but instead of pale white plastic, it's TCM paint. i don't care much though, i'm going to get a spoiler ment for the sand pearl black xB so it helps out with the "black, TCM, carbon fiber, Gun Metal and blue" color theme i'm going for so i could care less about my current spoiler.

I've been searching around and am actually more confused than when I started but.. if I wanted to use touch up paint, do I need just the basecoat, or do i need a clearcoat and a primer as well?

Can't afford a full repaint- any DIY for this type of scratch?

use your uninsured motorist insurance! Say it was a hit and run, go get a case number and insurance will do it for your deductible on that instead of your liability deductible! We just had to!

Oh Kanchi- oh that it were so easy. My deductible (uninsured motorist too) is 1K. i just had to pay it because some lady rear ended me (which makes this scratch on the newly replaced bumper even more annoying)
