Vanilla is not a show car, either, but she is generally as good as you will see in a dealer's showroom.

(I'm not at all sure that a "stockie" will get anywhere with judging in a show, even if it is showroom perfect and zero miles. I happen to know there will be some VERY nice cars (and quite customized) there, which is why Vanilla is NOT going to show: I'm leaving the limited number of judging spots to those cars that really deserve it, even though I personally think 'Nilla is perfect.) :D

It will be up to the folks running things, of course, but if the number of folks who want their cars to be judged in the show is too much, I would expect some, uh, "triage" to take place with the "not ready for prime time" cars asked not to register...

(Even though Vanilla doesn't show, she STILL has the minimum datasheet for a show car. Here's the front and back: http://tijil.org/vanilla_datasheet.html and http://tijil.org/vanilla_splash_web.jpg )

I know I want my tC RS2 in the car show. I spent 5 hours today detailing it. I did the clay bar thing, washed it, then I polished it and I polished the wheels and a full detail of the engine. But this is also what I do about 2 times a month with the full detail. However my tC gets washed every weekend and spray detailed. I just love a clean car. Tomorrow I will do the interior. But if the car show is full I will not be upset as the event will still be fun. However, I think Tomas is right about the "triage" comment. Does anyone know why the car show is capped at only 100 cars? Is it because of parking room? Anyway, I am really looking forward to the event and seeing everyone and their Scions.

I believe the cap comes from the limited time for the judges to adequately judge the vehicles - it takes considerable time per vehicle, and even at just a couple of minutes per vehicle, a hundred of 'em is about three and a half personhours of work...

Ok so according to posts over at clubxb.com people are meeting with their club at 10am to roll over to the garage. They want to be there early to get a spot. Someone there said if they get there too early they will be sitting the floor below the event at the garage while they finish setting up. SOOOO it sounds like getting there early is NOT an issue and it appears we have others that will be there before we are planning to be....which could effect those of you wanting to be in the show since it is limited to the first 100 cars.

I had a feeling other "groups" were planning a big group show up like we were...although they are all just meeting near the garage to show up at the same time...

That is correct. It's all about making sure every vehicle gets judged fairly and equally. At this time I don't believe you have much to worry about, there should be plenty of room for everyone who wants to show. But getting there early never hurts.

AND just to be perfectly clear, you don't HAVE TO show to win prizes. Everyone who shows up will be eligible for prizes. There will be a few extra bits for those who win in the show, but the big prizes are going to be open to everyone in the raffle!
