OK, so whats goin on with this event? I registered and and am confirmed. But i've gotten conflicting info. the first post in this thread states..

" You are invited to the annual Scion owner’s appreciation day. This is a SCION ONLY EVENT! The event will be located on the top floor of the Quest Field Parking Garage (4th Ave & Royal Brougham, next to Quest Event Center). Roll-in is from noon to 1pm, Judging starts at 1PM and awards are at 5:30PM. "
Ok.. roll in from noon to 1:00

Then TODAY, besides the email that AvonladyJenn posted above, I got another at the same time, that contained ANOTHER confirmation attachment that said this..

" Good Afternoon-Thanks for your registering for the 2008 Scion Owner Appreciation
Event! Attached to this confirmation e-mail is a receipt that you must
present at the event to receive your Mariners tickets.

Seattle Mariners Vs. New York Yankees
Location: Safeco Field
Date: September 6, 2008
Time: Parking garage opens at 3:00 PM
@ 4th Ave & Royal Broughham
(just follow the event signs once you enter the garage)
Game Time: 6:10 PM

See You In Seattle,
Bobbi Simpson
Portland Region Scion Manager"

I'm sort of confused.. which is it? Noon or 3:00 I AM confirmed,

Brad we are rolling OUT of Tacoma at 10:45am. So be there before that.

As far as the walkie, I have one, but someone that is rolling from vancouver might need it since we have a caravan coming from there. I am STILL trying to find my others.

Does anyone else have walkies??? We are going to set them to channel 5 no code

CLARIFICATION. You only need to roll in early IF you are competing in the car show. Otherwise you can show up at 3pm. You are welcome to show up early if you'd like, but this was more an effort to let car show competitors clean their cars and provide enough time to get ready for the competition.

Noon for SHOW competitors is the earliest i think

WAIT A MINUTE!!!

Am I to understand that my car won't even be on the same floor as the event unless I show???

Since I want it within hiking distance of me so I can use it as a base, and as someplace to sit, etc., and since I don't even want to consider dragging camera, chair, whatever from one floor to another, I think we may need some clarification on this.

If that is truly the case, I may have to break some rules.

*** searching thru the thread... page 10 had the first post about the car show from Mr Ma... and said space is limited first 100 cars but there are oversize elevators on the n & s side for people (maybe i read into that as being show parking top floor, gen spectators below)

*** page 15 post from Foth... there will be 2 lanes for people showing up.. 1 for show contenders 1 for non show
..again leads to thinking 2 diff parking areas??

Can Mr Foth or Mr Ma post up a clarification please? i not tryin to stir the pot... just interpreting what i read

Ok EV1 here is the caravan list with the meet up and roll out times. I am getting ready to head out to Troutdale (YIPPEE) before taking my baby for detailing.

Those of you in Oregon....T, my hubby will be on 101KUFO between 3:30 and 6pm....nothing to do with Scion...just in case you wanted to listen to MR. Avon LOL That's why they invited him on the show is to talk about being a guy selling Avon. Should be funny.

I have printed the list with those that sent me their cell numbers. I will have ONE extra walkie first come first serve...probably needs to go to someone rolling outta vancouver....whoever is the tail I suppose. I am cleaning out another closet later tonight to see if by chance I can find the rest of my walkies. But that is only if I have time after Troutdale and detailing.

Caravan list...minus Chris who bailed on us for Balliztik.

If you are going to be in the caravan and your name is not on the list please copy the post and add your name so we can make sure everyone is on the list....so we don't leave without you.

Vancouver Meet up spot 7am Rolling out at 7am...so you may want to get there early: Steakburger
7120 Ne Highway 99
Vancouver, WA

Tacoma Meet up spot 9am: Roll out 10:45 am (meeting up early to get a break and wash cars for those coming from Vancouver and other areas)

And the rules are worth repeating to make sure we are all on the same page. This isn't a race...it's a caravan. It's gonna be awesome so let's all stick to the guidelines please!

Lead has to keep a steady pace so we can stay together as much as possible.

There WILL be other cars getting into the middle of our line. The best way to get those non-Scions OUT of the convoy is to be going just slow enough that they can't take it and pull out on their own.

Walkie-talkies: Lead and tail must remain in contact so lead knows if tail is falling behind.

ALL lane changes, exits, and other maneuvers must be called out on the walkie-talkies before they happen so everyone has a warning.

Tail will attempt to block a space in the lane the convoy is moving to so others can move into it more safely.

Everyone: Headlights On for Safety!

See you all Saturday.

Just to put it into perspective........each car has a minimum value of $20,000........25+cars all in a row........even my insurance will not cover that many cars.

It is not a race........if anyone gets separated do not panic......we have 35 miles to get it all back together again.......Cell phones.......walkie talkies......and Dear Tomas bringing up the rear....he is always the rear.......if you are behind him you are in the wrong spot.......in fact we will probably end up in at least 3 caravans all with in blocks from each other by the time we get there.

There will be people doing photos and they are usually the only ones not in the line or passing.

The Pizza run earlier this year almost had 3 smashed Scions due to a person in a 4x4 cutting us all off at the exit and then locking his brakes up.......Larry can give first hand view of that .......in fact he is still amazed he was not a bumper decoration to the guy.

So I understand the cars that are showing will be on the top floor and everyone else will occupy the floor below. Do all Scions at least get to stay together? Would be sucky if we park with the general public. Even if we're not showing we still want to be together!

Regarding parking, this is the email I got the other day, sounds like we are all parking on the top level, See everyone Sat. Drive safe.

Hi Everyone -

We are excited that you are able to join us for our annual Scion Owner
Appreciation event this Saturday, September 6th at the Seattle Mariner vs.
New York Yankee Baseball game. Parking will be provided, free of charge,
at the Qwest Field parking garage on 4th and Royal Broughman avenue.
Enter the garage and proceed to the parking attendant where you will be met
by a Scion representative. Our representative will direct you to the top
floor (6th floor) of the parking garage where we will distribute tickets,
commemorative event T-shirts and other goodies and the registration tent.
We will also provide pizza and beverages from 4:00pm - 6:00pm. The weather
forecast for Saturday is 71 degrees and light clouds (Weather Channel). It
does get a little chilly during the game so bring a jacket to stay warm.

We look forward to meeting all of you -

I have e-mail into one of the folks who should be able to confirm or deny the parking of everyone on the top floor.

I'll let you know if I get any reply.
