Smog
Hey guys I still new to PNW im in WA my tags are up in a few mo I was wondering what they did for smog here? Because I have so many codes its not even funny. Do they just do a OBD2 scan and gas tank check or do they use a sniffer?
Thanks guys

I don't know, Eatonville registration = no emissions required The last time I did though I had a modified GSX that passed fine probably because it was AWD and they didn't have AWD rollers so they just made me RPM hold at 2500 with a sniffer, only took a minute, that was it.

If they do a sniffer you won't pass without a cat. They will do a sniffer for sure if your OBD codes do not check out. The only way you might be able to pass is tuning both timing and fuel. Then you can try and adjust the gap on your spark plugs but I cant remember if it's larger gap or smaller gap that helps, something to look into.
I think your best bet though is to find a stock cat to borrow to get that cat code cleared and help you pass sniffer.

It changes, sometimes they do the sniffer/rollers other times they do just OBDII
I think it's random though, every time I've been in they just use OBDII and check the gas cap seal, never have to hold RPM's or use sniffer / rollers
I'm in Renton, King Co.

The last time I did emissions, they did a OBD check, no rollers. I barely passed 'cause at the time I had my check engine light on so I had to disconnect my battery, then have 5 cold starts and then get it checked again and I passed.
This was in Auburn (so king county)
