Default Stupid maintenance light

I got my oil changed at a new independent oil place last time and they apparently didn't know about the little dash light that would come on reminding about oil changes. I've tried looking this up in the owner's manual and can't find how to turn it off. I tried to do something I found on this forum about holding the odometer button and turning the key at the same time, but that didn't work. It's driving me a little crazy!!! Help!!!

If it's the same as the tC, you need to make sure your ODO is selected on the actual ODO (not a trip one). Then turn the car off...

Hold the reset button down and switch the key to ON and hold it. You should see " - - - - - " or something flash on the screen. Keep holding, they'll start to go away. When you see them change to zeros, let go. Should be reset.

IF it's the same as the tC.

Fall leaves time is in October..... We don't get snow until Thanksgiving when it suddenly gets stormy, so any time before then. I'm cool with whatever time.... I'm just so happy not to see that dang MAINT REQUIRED light gone!!!!!
