WOW...none of my banks will take rolled coins any more without a fee assessed. I just use coinstar now. I love local banks (I have an acct at Puyallup Valley Bank and they are good but only have a couple of branches) for their services like this!!!
A fee for rolled coin? I just thought it was cool that they didn't double check my work or make me write all over each roll, lol.
I used to do coinstar before I had a bunch of newspaper coin machines. The fee for that machine really starts to hurt when you've got $800 in quarters, lol. Rolling them ourselves sorta sucks but if the two of us work at it together, it takes only about a half hour to get it all done.

Yeah...almost every large multi-state bank charges to deposit coinage (rolled or not) into an acct.
I found that the Coinstar was a cheaper fee/easier and if I choose a gift card, I don't have any fee assessed at all.

I did not know about the gift card option! So like if I went into QFC and chose "gift card", it'd be a gift card to QFC with no fee? I would definitely take enough coin to the grocery store and pay that way! Then roll the rest.
Wells Fargo since '97, no real problems, great on-line services, but some internal 'real life' functions seem to take nearly forever (new credit cards, etc.).
Negative is if you don't have enough savings to make 'em happy, they CHARGE you for keeping your savings in their bank...

I'm a WAMU and have been for years. No complaints so far. In order to not be charged a fee for my savings account I have an automatic transfer of funds from my check to savings every paycheck so they won't charge me, and hey it does't cost me and it helps build that account.
I have also heard good things about Wells Fargo.
I am not keen on Key Bank or Bank of America.

Wells Fargo is the best. I love the real time online access. If you transfer funds or make a payment it shows up right away.
My second choice would be a California based B of A account. But that may be hard for you to open.
I like WAMU's overdraft protection that allows you to be able to go negative a certain amount set by the bank $500, $1,000, etc and not bounce checks. Other banks will not let you do that.
The WA B of A account I have has made a few errors in my accounts but they were easy to work with to fix.
