arco
sooo i know that there has been a conspiracy towards arco gas.
many believe that their gas is cheaper in price and quality. they say it messes up the engine and whatnot
anyone find that to be true?

lol Michigan?
this is the pacific south section
and if their gas isnt clean, how can it be sold to the public? isnt there a test that they need to pass in order for the gas to be sold to the public?

Arco has a lower price due to the fact that they don't accept credit cards. Remember back in the day they used to have a higher price for the ability to use your credit card? One day the cash and credit card price became the same, which is when they just decided to charge the higher price of credit. The only gas stations I would be concerned about would be the "Mom and Pop" convenience store types.

Actually gas from different stations just have different dyes and fragrances added to them. If your cars manual states to use 87 octane, you would not see a benefit by using a higher octane unless your car is pinging on 87. I had to prove this once to my Wife with her Nitro, she was using 91 octane and I asked her to try 87 like the manual states. She got more miles on a tankful of 87 than she did with the 91, her driving habits are pretty consistent.

Back when I had my pick up truck, I used 76 all the time. Then one time I got seriously low and I stopped in at an Arco. I found it to make my engine idle alot rougher. (if that makes any sense). It only did that, the one time I fiied it with Arco.

When I had my POS 2005 Corolla I used to put Arco in it because I didn't care and every single time I got to about 3/4 of a tank, my check engine light would go on. Once I stopped being a cheap-o and gas prices went down, I started filling up with Mobil and that light never came on again. I dunno if thats just a freak coincidence or it really is true.
