Tho I'm not a Ford, GM or an american car fan, Ford may not be a laughing matter for long..word has it that the former president for Scion Jim farley may be taking over the head position there soon. So with his previousl success with Toyota, Scion and Lexus, I'm sure things may be looking up for them. But I'll stay a Toyota, Acura, Benzo and Bmer loyalist..Peace

For sure!! If that does happen I can see some good things happening for Ford. Jim Farley is one smart cookie

well you cant really bag too much on american cars. like said before, if a Mazda still carries the Mazdaspeed badge or has a rotary engine, then its still Mazda quality. and dont forget, toyota and GM had a contract together once before as seen with the Matrix and the Pontiac Vibe, and the Toyota Cavalier in Japan............................. damn does that mean anyone who has a late 90's cavalier can be JDM also??????? anyways what im trying to say is that with all the collaborations/buy outs, i mean some ideas on quality should have crossed lines somewhere

maybe that claim refers to trucks, but Ford is trying to apply to all their vehicles. Toyota and Nissan have barely caught up with Ford in truck design
x motha effin 2

TeeCizzle, please dont be like those honda fanboys bashing on other companies ....IMO there are so many different arguements one could come up with in why ford is better/worse than toyota. Ford does not F#$#$ suck tho....one thing everyone has to remember is, like HKSpeed said, ford makes trucks....thats what there known for.... whats there pitch line?......."BUILT FORD TOUGH"...what are the majority of commercials you see on tv of?.....ford TRUCKS(F150,F250,F350).......
uhm...actually...if you go out to montana and talk to the aide of my family comprised of real corn fed farming men who really use their trucks for work...they and a majority of the other men who farm think ford sucks and blows. their older trucks were aweaome, but the last generation (the 97 to 20XX) were terrible. weak engines, tranmissions, twisting their frames when they towed, breaking down, getting stuck, you name it. one of my favorite trucks they have out there is a 1977 chevy silverado. that thing runs fantastically, and it has worked every day of its life.
hmmmm so just because there "real corn fed farming men" makes your statement that much more valid? i think not. My father ownes a construction company and uses his F250 to haul around his bobcats and other equip, we use it to tow our fifthwheel toyhauler, we use it for everything you can possibly think of. in the end, it all comes down to preference. if your a ford guy... your gonna say that chevys and rams suck. if your a chevy guy your gonna say that fords and rams suck.....it can go on and on. now i dont know whether your talking about diesels or gas trucks but when it comes down to facts every company has there strengths. Chevy/GMC= there Allison trans, Dodge=Cummings engines, Fords= Powerstroke engines made by Recon.

their older trucks were aweaome, but the last generation (the 97 to 20XX)were terrible. weak engines
not true, they actually had threee different gen motors in there trucks. From 88-03 they used the 7.3liter which by far the best motor they used, from 04-07 they used the 6.0 liter, and now in 08 they use the 6.0liter twin turbo and cause of emissions in CA have to have particulate filters.

The F-150 is the best selling vehicle in the country for a reason...If you can't honestly accept that, then you're a bigot.

Let's say for the past 20 years, the F-150 was the biggest piece of garbage. I think 20 years of customers having too many complaints and problems would steer them away from staying with that vehicle. But in reality, that's not what happened.

I'm a fully certified Ford FACT technician. I don't even work on cars and I'm more certified than 80% of Ford techs in this country. I've seen the cars inside and out, and yes, cars like the Focus, 500, Tauras...are pieces of shiat. But things like the F-1/250, Mustang GT, GT..are a completely different story. They're made with so much more care and you honestly wouldn't think they were made by the same people that made the Focus.

In terms of car quality, Toyota is light years ahead of Ford.

In terms of heavy-duty and Sports/Supercars, Ford is light years ahead of Toyota.

with all due respect .... ford started the engine ... so everyone can just stfu and leave this topic alone lol

and pretty much without that we would probably still be horse and buggy ____ so just let it go every car manufacturer has different ideas hence why we have so many different kinds of cars

just let it go

Ford didn't start the engine. The french did.

Unless you're talking in metaphors and meant that they started the production line...

Sad your that much more qualified than the guys working on FORD cars.... some people however accept allot out of the corporate world. They get used and don't even know it. I am not trying to contradict you. I know you know more than I do about Ford, however when I sold them I can distinctively remember the "six figure income" sales manager talking to us about the F150. He said things like. "Well they don't know the trans is gonna fail at 90k" but he was pushing us to sell the $15k car like crazy.

I quit that job pretty soon after. I could not sell a car I did not believe in or that I knew I was not being honest about to the buyer.
