Default new year = new laws

Here is a link to the automobile club website listing some of the new laws going into effect either today or in the near future that will affect you on the road.

http://www.aaa-calif.com/westways/01...legislate.aspx

Here is the link to the DMV (Less readable but right from the horses mouth)

"Mature-driver courses, available for drivers at least 55 years of age, are designed to help older motorists drive safely longer by educating them on proper driving techniques and changes in technology and the law. AB 2407, an Auto Club-sponsored bill, permits renewal courses to be completed in four hours. (The initial course lasts for eight hours.) Drivers who successfully complete the course are eligible for a small discount on their auto insurance."

We need this in AZ so, so badly. When I turned 16, I did not have to return to the MVD (ya we call it that instead of DMV, and did I mention that our left green arrow comes after the light instead of before it here in Tucson?) to renew my license until 2050!

I think it is quite crazy that an 85 year-old-man can still have his 16-year-old photo. Go figure...

Waste matter does not include beverage containers or food wrappers, but it does include oil and other petroleum products, paints, garbage, furniture, dirt, gravel, and body parts.

Too bad there's still some time before the cell phone law goes into effect. A majority of people who talk on their cell phones while driving are obviously negatively affected.

Ever been driving behind a slow car only see that the only reason they were driving slow was because they were on their phone? If I only drove a tank...
