so i got pulled over today
well tint tickets are a different story. thats the one ticket you will most likely always get. it comes down to being a safety issue for the officer. it's a very unsafe thing to walk up on a car with tint you can't see into, see how many people are in it or if they have a weapon or not. if you get pulled over and you have tint, it's a good idea to have all the windows rolled down and have you're hands on the steering wheel.

However, the Sheriffs and Constables usually don't care, they have bigger fish to fry. Like others have said, if you're cool with them and just tell the truth and are not trying to be sly, they'll let you go.
usually city police will try and generate revinue by giving tickets. the money goes to the city. while sheriffs are county and really don't care about generateting money, they care more about putting bad guys in jail and keeping the streets safe.

either one would be good. as long as we can see what's going on. it usually shows respect and that you plan to cooperate. the one thing you never want to do is lie. it's all over from there. be honest even if you're admiting a crime you may have comitted. they still might bust you for it but they will usually lower what ever you did because you were honest. they might even let you go, depending on the crime.
Admitting to the small stuff might get you clean with a cop not specifically cracking down but you've just admitted you've broken the law. Most officers have some discretion on what violations (Spirit of the law) they get you for but you might have one of those @$$hole cops who are really into the "letter of the law".
Of course, it depends on whether they're working Traffic or not, if you're in an area known for street racing, if it's late at night, if you fit the profile, etc.

it is true there are alot of officers who will ticket you no matter what you do. the are some cops who are dicks with people. it's usually the guys who were picked on in high school and now have a position of power and choose to use it in every way they can. but for the most part being honest will usually always render good results. not only in run in's with the law but also with life in general.

it's very funny. there are some officers that i know that act very tough, becouse they have a badge and a gun. the kinda guy's that if they had any other job, would get their a@# kicked for the way they acted. instead of having respect for everyone, they feel they are better than other people for what they do. i hate that. we are here to serve and protect not to hassle and harrass. we are just normal people with a job to do, no better or worse than the people we are serving.

the last thing you want to do is act tough and tell them no, i won't comply, it's a violation of my rights to roll up my windows. that's quite possibly the worst advice i have ever heard. now all you're going to do is ____ them off, so not only will they ticket you for the tint but they will find every little thing they can to charge you for. like i said before, most cops will be cool with you if you are honest, but alot of people EARN themselves tickets, by acting tough or trying to hide things.

I dare you to refuse the officer, thats how you go about getting written up for whatever they pulled you over for. Then they'll find probable cause to have you step out of the vehicle cause you're being an idiot. And once they've got you out of the car, they'll check the tint themselves. But that tint will be the least of your worries if they find anything illegal in your ride.
But for me, I prefer the easy way, I like not getting tickets. I have no tint on my front windows, so when the officer asks me to roll them up (and CHP has) I kindly oblige because I have nothing to hide.
