so back in 2005 when i got my tC one of the first mods i did was getting rid of those ugly a$$ orange gauges and center console lights. Well i think that some other people might want that also so i am trying to see how many people would be interested, maybe have a day where we could meet up and i could do the swap. I don't know exactly how much i would charge, but i'm thinking around $50 for the gauge cluster or AC controls(each), depends on how many people are interested because the more LEDs you order the cheaper they are.

hey any tips on doing the LCD screen for the HVAC? that's the only thing i have left to change other than my HU

 

**i recently changed my clock to white, and the colors on a few other little buttons on the HVAC

so there are some pics...number two, i was saying the gauges around $50 and the HVAC(AC controls) around $50, so yes i can do the HVACs

which leads to number three yes i did it all my self, and i've gotten much better with a soldering iron since the first color change i did to my tC I can also change out the door controls(windows/locks) and steering wheel radio controls, colors possibilities are: amber, blue, green, red, pure green, and white(i don't know the diff between green and pure green) and i could do any combo you'd like. if you'd like to see some good examples or even check out having them done (not locally) check out garage1217.com he's a good guy over in AZ and he'll do it with shipping for a little more than what i'm thinking i can do it for, but you gotta have the time to have the gauges/HVAC out of the car.

As far as the question about the LEDs behind the LCD, get some solder wick, its braided copper wire and remove the solder from the contacts that connect the LCD to the board, then just remove the screen and swap away, then resolder the contacts back on. let me know if you break your screen i have an extra one, but its not cheap, that comp costs around $500 so be careful.
And as far as the clear corners...i got them from a gut here on SL over a year ago, if you search for the post he might still have some.

 

oh and i don't really want ot do any radios cause they are really small LEDs and they're a pain in the A$$ but i might change my mind if enough people are interested

 

^^ yah i looked into do it but i'm not sure if it's worth it because i'll end up swapping to an aftermarket one anyways. thanks for the tip on the solder wick though, i'm gonna go swap out those last 3 LEDs haha

OK so i'm gonna go ahead and say $50 for each unit, ie $50 for gauge cluster and $50 for HVAC, i need to know how many people are serious about this so i can figure out if i can actually do it for less. i would just like to get a list going, don't need specifics on colors yet, just Name and Gauges,HVAC,or both. I don't know exactly when either it depends on how many people and stuff like that. Thanks guys
