Don't buy it..... for the love of god don't buy it. Buy a cheap stand alone. You can get a megasquirt2 for like $400. The reason that you dont want to buy a maphack is it just tricks you ecu into thiking it is in a different part of the fuel and ignition maps then it is. The reason this is bad is say your motor is N/A and is at WOT and your AFC is telling your computor that it is at 50 kPa but your motor is injesting twice the ammount of air. With more air, that means a faster flame travel and if your ECU sees 50 kPa it will be way to advanced and you will get preignition (detonation). Also fuel is not where you get a substantial HP gain from, it's your ignition.

Here is a helpfull article i wrote. It is long, but well worth it. http://forum.pgmfi.org/viewtopic.php?t=10483

I know what it does and the risks of doing. I also plan on upgrading the ignition very shortly.

I want one of these because I know I don't have full potential of my upgrades right now and just want this as a temp. to do some mild tuning.

I plan on going SC'd but that is a long way down the road and jus want something in the mean time.

I have alot of friends running a setup like this and have been for years with no problems. but that is a great link and great advice.

royce, are you needing opinions on the product, or is this a 'want to buy' type classified?

I want to buy. its in the classified section as well and I know I probbably shouldn't have posted here. but I am hoping someone local has one so I don't have to pay shipping and can work something out.
