How much will a 55lb box paint? Sounds like a huge process.

No not a huge process, its just the" you just get better discount for bulk" thing.my guess is a strut bar should take 1-2 pounds of powder, but that's just a guess.where the big cost comes in is electricity most shops use a big oven to cook in, therefor the higher price of powdercoating.I think the prices Tony have are perty good

Sure thing Frosty I would say if its under 40bux its about as good of a price as your going to find, I would do it if I had yellow and if it was clean bare metal.

This guy does great work, he's fast and reasonable pricing. He also does thermal coating. I got my turbo manifold, downpipe thermal coated and my charge pipe and throttle pipe powder coated for less than $200 and was completed over a weekend.

Its like this.. instead of painting it, you spray dust. I dont know for sure but they put some kind of electricity current so the dust stick (kinda like the dust collecting on your computer screen LOL). Then they put it it in the oven and melt the dust paint. Very durable!!

I dropped off the strut bar at Denver Bumper this morning. They said It normally takes a week to get it done. But they put and ASAP on the ticket so we will see how much time that knocks off. Lots of colors to chose from all in house. Cost quoted $45.

I called GEO's guy and he was really busy with the stock show. So it was going to take a full week be fore I would get it back. May have to go get colors as needed. Price quoted $65.

Its a plastic polymer powder, powder is +charged part is grounded so it sticks to the part. Then it is cured in an oven (melts the plastic) when it cools it is more durable than regular paint

Show off lol.. Yeah that is better explaination.

WillworkforanXB, how high of temparature do you put in the oven? I assume if you want to do this to your wheels you need to take off the tires to get a better result (and the heat maybe)?

Our oven cooks for 20minutes @ 400degrees other ovens cook longer at a lower temp. Ya you will have to dismount the tire and valve stem, wheel weights, just strip it clean so they can media blast it for paint. All the prices I have ever been quoted for wheels are in the 125-150 per wheel range, hope this helps.

SO it paints the inside of the wheel as well? or do you tape that off?
