Default The Loooonnng DRIVE home......

So, this is the drive from Cali to Colorado totally worth storytelling due to the humor, the anxiety, the exhaustion, the excitement, etc. ..

So it starts off at 6:00AM, Palm Springs California, Temp 60 Degrees.

I start the engine for the 14 to 16 hour drive back to Colorado in a One day haul. Driving thru Cali was the craziest part due to the ping pong of cars weaving in and out of each other, i did the same lol. Found one TC and followed him on I-15 for about an hour doin 90. Xb, followed right behind me. Then out of the corner of my eye, 1 Cali Trooper, radar gun pointed, Snagged.........the car in front of me. The Tc that it is. Another 2 miles down the road 5 California troopers had lasers pointed and somehow managed to slowdown enough each time. My Belltronics radar detector was able to pick most of the cops up from a mile out which was amazing cause in Colorado, my radar doesn't work like Jack. After managing to pass about 4 speed traps, at least a dozen cops, i made it into Nevada! But it didn't stop there! During the 150 mile stretch, i somehow got by another 2 speed traps, another 5 Nevada Troopers. Mean time i was going anywhere from 75 to 90 in a 55 to 75 zones lol.

THEN it was Arizona for the 50 mile stretch. Once again, 2 speed traps, 4 cops per each speed trap. about 8 cops total.

At this point, i felt like Pullin my hair out of seeing the red and blue lights and the anxiety behind every corner!

THEN UTAH!!! The biggest part of the Journey.

Shall i count down

At least 30 Cops
10 Speed Traps,
2 Car Chases
1 Cop/Accident

The funny thing about all of this, Every car that passed me, was pulled over about 3 miles down the road. And i'm TALKING EVERY Car, including a Silver Xb. I managed to do 7 over the whole time without getting pulled over as i pass 30 radar guns.
MY Belltronics also picked up these cops about a mile or more down the road.

Then I-70 Junction, I couldn't resist, straightaway, no cops, no beep, no zip, i punched it. Well, at 4500Ft, My 07 Tc either Topped out at 122mph or got governor limited but i didn't feel the cut off. I was at 4,000rpms at 122, still alot of rpms to go but my tC wasn't pushing anymore. So i slammed on the brakes, went back down to 83, and didn't see any Cops since the I-15/I-70 Junction all the way TO VAIL PASS where, a State Trooper was stuck in the snow.

TC made it up Vail, Eisenhower, passes, no problem blame mooo!
First time tC has ever been in snow. Semis, and Most rear wheel driven sudans where stuck and screwed. SUV's, and front wheel driven cars made it up no problem. Even a XB passes me doing 45 while it was dumping snow! Roads where slick snow packed, and at Idaho Springs was patches of black ice.

I pulled into the driveway, tC intact, cold at a lovely 22 degrees, and out of gas lol.

So this was a big drive for me,

Made it by 20 speed traps
Made it by 40 or more cops
Made it thru Snowpacked blizzard passes
Made it Home Safe and sound with no tickets, or accidents in hand

Total mileage round trip to cali and back, 3,251 miles on Trip B LOL.

I'm glad to hear you made it back safely! Sounds like driving to CA from CO is quite an adventure.
