Nice man! I hope yours lasts longer than mine did, my M17X broke one year to the day from the day it was delivered, I've had it for three years now and it still doesn't work.

Its an Alienware, they are very powerful and expensive computers, think of them as the Lamborghini of computers.

Thanks Gold. Sorry to hear about that one you have, I wonder if it got some bad component that slipped through testing. I did a few weeks of research on various gaming laptops before I decided on this one, and I didn't see reports of them failing.

You're right Shadezz, what was I thinking?

Alienware M14X R2

Intel Core i7-3740QM 3rd Gen 2.7GHz (Turbo Boost 2.0 up to 3.7GHz) 6MB Cache
2 GB DDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M w/ Optimus
16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 RAM
Killer Wireless-N 1202 a/g/n 2x2 MIMO and Bluetooth 4.0

I ordered it with the stock amount of ram so I didn't have to pay the huge markup. I ordered the Vengeance right after, so that by the time the laptop came I was able to max out the memory right away.

I know I'm bringing an old thread back, but I just wanted to let you that if you have the option to buy a full coverage extended warranty DO IT and make sure it also covers hardware, because the warranty it comes with does not cover hardware it only covers software. Also on a side note thanks to the warranty I bought dell just covered a new motherboard for my M17X.

Thanks for the heads up. I didn't end up getting any extended warranties on mine when I got it.

Damn, the motherboard failed? Sorry that happened man. That's not a very common failure point in systems, either.

yeah the two things that always seem the fail on my computers are the motherboard and the OS and with the Alienware it's both.
