alright... i copies a fuel map that was posted in the aem site and it idles better, but im having a tough time getting the car started. talke about 4-6 turns and finally a pop (backfire) before the car turns on. I let it idle and its alright. Tomorrow im taking maxs car to work, so ill take it for a test drive tomorrow. Keep you guys posted

actually, if you can talk to one of the guys that gave you the map and ask em what size injectors they were running that might help. but ofcourse, if you can find more maps... HOOK A BROTHA UP!... lol

Hey Deny....is it possible for you to datalog the duty cycle on the injectors, just to see if the FIC is tryin to get them to dump more fuel than usual??
Or for the map you are running that starts after a few tries...is the afr's rich?

Im a newbie at this too but it maybe could be settin your injectors to dump too much fuel...cuz these other guys wit the FIC are using injectors between 550-700cc if im not mistaken...
Cuz it sounds like the way you say about not starting and then starts wit a pop...is like wen you jump from 87 octane to 110 for the first time....

 

i got a response from joe dezod and he gave me some stuff to do. i hadnt calibrated the fic thinking it was all done with the tunes. so ive got to get up the pedal positioning and what not. Aside from that, it could be the fuel. Im gonna try and config the unit when i get home today and see how that works. I went into one of the maps and input the calculation for the injectors that i got using the formula, i still havent been able to confirm if it was right or not... but im working on it. thanks for the info though homie

dont worry soon hopefully you guys will see them on... the sad part is they have some stretched ___ tires on them (not my fault got it like that) and im not a fan of the stretched tire look but to just troll on they are ok... once im done with the VC and show you guys ill get to work on these...

on a side note... i think i killed my car. lol.

so im having a spirited drive to work to avoid being late. doing some hard accelerating/braking. when i get to the last light, i smell something burning REALLY BAD. lol. so im like, ____ this POS truck next to me smells like it's gonna blow. then i see smoke coming out of the passenger side of my car, out of the hood. and i ask the guy in the POS truck "hey, is that my car or yours?". he told me it was mine. so i get to work, park my car and run into my 9am meeting.

when i was driving, water temp was fine. no sounds were being made besides metal expanding when i turned off the car. when i left the meeting and came outside, i checked the oil. levels were fine (it was kinda dark because i'm almost at 3k miles again), but it was full. coolant was fine (it didnt smell like coolant - i would know, i blew the radiator in my last car in that same street light). radiator didn't have any leaks.

the only thing i can think of is maybe the brakes on that side heat up so much they smoked like that. ive never seen that though and ive driven MUCH harder than that. i'll probably take it to the dealer in a bit just to make sure everythings cool. gotta love warranty. lol.
