take off the nut on the hub where the axle meets it, take off the 3 LCA bolts, take off the tie rod, take off the upper 2 22mm bolt.. swing out the hub.. pull out the axle from the tranny... reverse to re install..

Sounds good.

I have no clue if this is true or but... Aren't there any rings? or something that has to be removed as well? where the shaft goes into the tranny?

those are the crimp rings that go on the inside of the tranny on the driver side axle. they go around the axle at the end where it gets inserted into the tranny. they hold the axle in the tranny so it doesnt pop out..

DO NOT REMOVE THAT RING OR LOOSE IT!...

leave it where it is...

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Joe that came out of nowhere, hahahaha.

Thats why I was asking about the driver's side axle.

The axle boot is broken on mine, for a few weeks now. So I decided to get one, as soon as I have the money. Which happens to be today =)

My car pulls to the right. If I don't hold the steering wheel.

I just ordered an axle. As soon as it gets here, i'm gonna have to install it.

So I can take the car to get tuned.

As of right now, i'm pretty sure i'm shooting flames again in boost, lol. Geo watchout ^^

I was playing around with a different hydra map, and the AFRs had drastic changes.

Lets just say everything kicked in sooner.

This is just theoretical. But there might be the slight possibility that the axle popped out of the tranny. This was before I had a chance to change the settings on the dampers. They are all on super soft right now, until I raise the height on all of them.

As I was saying. When they were super stiff, I hit a pothole around calle ocho.
Big a s s metal CLANG sound around the driver's side axle (boot has been broken since tranny install). I'll get under the car this weekend. So my question is.... Pete do you think I lost the crimp rings??? If so, how much do you think they are???

Well axle is 1st on the list. FP 2nd. Tune 3rd.

Axle and FP, i'm gonna try and get them out of the way the same day.

So that will be sometime next week. Hopefully the tuner works next week sat/sun ^^

Nope. But the car has never pulled to the right, until I started getting weird sounds from the driver's side axle.

I looked at the alignment settings, on the top of the coilovers. They all seem to be, where they should be at. Stance looks the same as it did before.

I mean, yea I should get it aligned, but it only started happening recently. I really think it has to do with the axle =(

Bro, at this point nothing phases me, haha. I've been through so much with my car. I really have learned a lot from all the x100000000 b.s. problems i've had, lmao.

After its tuned, I might just hit the track the same day *RAWR!*

well 2 scenarios are happening.. either when u guys put back the axle the ring fell off or u guys didnt pop it in hard enough and that would cause it to come out.. or you tore the boot open and the core of the boot is damaged and caused it to pop out. the only other thing that i could see happen is that the crimp ring fell out inside the tranny.. but you would have heard grinding by now because of it being loose in the houseing

once u get the new axle on and make sure it has the ring... take it to get aligned.. but make all your final adjustments on the suspension in terms of height first.. then get it aligned. most likely your toe in or out is out of wack and needs adjusting.. im in the same boat also.. i need an alignment since i took off both hubs and axles .. so im veering all over the place... its common after that kind of procedure that u will need an alignment.

the ring is probably like 4 bucks or 8 bucks max.

Changing the height is gonna be a pita, lol. I'm guessing a couple of hours.

I guess I can do that too, the same day as the axle swap.

Hey, maybe we can get a 2 for 1 alignment special =D
