well i honestly dont care if he is going to get mad at me for this or what not because it hurts me to see a great guy give up on the scion community tonight i was informed that barry aka "hip 2b sqr" has stepped down as evo's orlando chapter liason due to all the baby games of this community he is a great guy and just couldnt take the baby stuff anymore and after several attempts to contact him he wont answer any calls and i am slowly seeing why he has left the scion community after all how many times can you sit back and let people kick you in the teeth for the good you try to bring here barry if you read this call me man we need to talk for real

barry can you please talk about this i know i dont want to lose a great friend like you for anything even if a majority of it was from the old town show

 

This is getting out of hand. What happened to the loving family we use to be? I think Barry is a great guy. Even I have been trying to get in contact with him. Hopefully something becomes resolved soon...

it's sad that Barry is stepping down but I can't blame him with all the drama. what will end up happening is we'll all be hanging out just as friends and not as car club members, oh wait, I thought that was the purpose.

many of us have lost sight of what is really important, friendship. we got together as stangers because of a car manufacturer (Scion), we became friends through car clubs (Scion Dynasty, KAD, Scion Evo, Scikotics), but now we have been torn apart. why? the car clubs getting too big? too many new members trying to show how cool their rides are by putting down other members rides? Backstabbing? Talking crap behind other members backs? people just running their mouths without thinking?

last time I checked friends don't do that crap. I miss hanging with friends in the Scion clubs. I don't care if you are in KAD or Scikotics or whatever, you're friends of mine and that's why it's a shame to see this. If there is anything I can do you guys know how to get a hold of me.

 

I've said it over and over. The best part about owning a Scion is the friends you make. But have things really gotten this bad? Ive only been in the Scion scene a year. And its been one of the best experiences ever. And like anything, it has its ups & downs. Its really sad to see people affected like this.

Have we forgotten what this is about? Its about cars and people. Hanging out and having a good time. Its not about trophies, and how much cash you've burned.

Maybe we need to step back and take a breather. I say forget the trophies or giveaways and all that crap. Lets all just go somewhere and hang out and have a good time. Keep it simple.

I dont think theres anything wrong with that.

this is exactly my point we are all friends because of a car i didn't know any of you before i purchased my scion. i don't come out much because i have a very busy work schedule. i totally agree with bill or maybe we should just do meets and no competitions.

 

I'm starting to like that idea about no trophies. Honestly.... trophy seem to come down to who can dump the most money in their car. Give me $50,000 and I can start winning $20 trophies at every show.

I've just been focused on getting some sound back in my car and upgrading the performance. I love driving, so upgrading the performance aspect is part of the entertainment value of the car for me. It's fun to get on it from a light. In the next couple of weeks it will be nice to line up with an STI and be staring through his front window the whole time until we hit the 1/4mile.

I have met a lot of people by getting involved in the car club scene. I remember the excitement of Thursday's when I would go the the Sonic meet and then cruise around town with our cars.

I know my car isn't trophy worthy.... but I think I get more excitement seeing people taking pictures of my car or with my car.

The thing that I always noted about Orlando was that the Scion Clubs of Orlando have always seemed to get along. I don't understand why SE and Scikotics elsewhere can fight like they do.

Either way....this is for the love of our car and the family

hey guys this ____ is seriously getting out of hand..... the reason y i like my scin is because of the community... u guys see tht all sti's and evo and SRT owners are dikz because they have a fast car and they think tht their car is the bomb.... thts not y i like hanging out with u guys... i look foward to every thursday night.. i break other plans sometimes just to hangn out with u guys... this is seriously getting wayyy out of hand because of a damn show... .crap.. the show was for every1 to have fun.... if you cant have fun and are just there for compatition stay ur azz home because we dont want u there... we are like a huge scion family and lets keep it tht way...

if we are not goin to keep it tht way then i guess owning a scion is no more fun....

Its glad to see alot of us are coming to our senses... Its been this way for god knows how long now... And I think its time for change. Because the Scion scene is not what it was 2-3 years ago... If your in the Scion community for trohpies, medals, etc. then have it your way, because that isnt what I feel the Scion name is about. Its a community, of friends, who care for one another... Thats the way ive always seen it. Ive made huge amounts of friends in the Scion community, and that to me, isnt worth all the Scion trophies in world. I was absolutely shocked that Barry stepped down, and you know when an amazing guy like Barry steps down, something has to change. Because Barry has been nothing but good to us all, in one way or another. And this is how we as a community treat him in return.

Now I think a good idea to start fresh would be an event, a picnic or something of that nature, no trophies, no show, nothing but Scions and their owners, family, and friends, for a good get together.

What do you guys think?

Hey everybody...my name is Leslie and I'm from Evo in South Florida...honestly I met Barry at the Scion Life event in Miami...though only for a short time..he was cool as hell..and though we are all Evo...everyone got along.

Unfortunately I do find all the DRAMA disheartening to say the least and the fact that everyone just can't get along when we are all striving for the same Horizon is beyond me...like many of you have said...who cares about the trophies, the props or anything else...it's about "SCION", the "Scion Community" and the Family which has gotten together...I have met so many people in the past 2 1/2 years and it was always about just patting everyone on the back and saying congratulations for everything they have and were yet to accomplish...how some can make a mockery of such a great cause is beyond me.

Barry, I hope you read this...I am sorry to see you go my friend...you are truly a very exceptional person..and all I can say is "KEEP YOU HEAD UP", forget those that try and shoot you down and walk away be the better man...but remember those that are all in it for the same reason as you and stand as One for the better of us all...only people like you can make a difference!

I hope you decide to stay and know we stand behind you here in South Florida...we'd hate to lose a brother and you know that if you need us when we can (if we're not working that is) we are more than happy to be there for you.

Love ya...just think about it...forget the bull and Stand Tall...! Don't show them that you can be conquered be a TROJAN...and bring them down with your righteousness...
