I got to drive this one today, its the Asphalt gray with manual. First impression was that it was bigger then I thought it would be but when you get inside there is no room for the people behind you. But the seats were amazing, they held me in like I was glued there. The clutch was very light and it shifted perfect, short and solid. I almost walked out with it As soon as I got on the highway the dealer said lets see how fast we can get to 100, and it gets there no problem and cruises at about 3k in 6th going 70ish. All in all I love it, the handling was spot on and I didn't have any doubt in my mind when taking a turn with the power on.

the dealer had to drive it first cause his manager told him not to let anyone drive the manuals but he let me.

Yeah that was really one of the few things I didn't really like about it when I drove one. Looked cheap, easily fixed though.

Want to save that money, do it yourself. I haven't had the best experiences from the complimentary oil change/services from the local dealer, which is why I have decided to never go to them again and DIY(the next nearest dealership is 30 miles away). Also one can get good quality aftermarket replacement parts, oil, brake pads, rotors can all be had for less than dealer prices.

For the price of the FRS they should of had Factory Hood Dampener instead of a Hood Prop.

apparently, the hood prop is designed in such a way that you can move it to different mounting points so the hood can be propped open wider, almost vertical, so an engine hoist or whatever, can easily fit through without having to rig or remove the hood.

There will be a moment where you will wish you had the hood prop and not the hood damper. If it's designed as mentioned above then the hood prop will be most beneficial.

Went to the dealer today and drove a Firestorm A/T. Visually I love it, just not in red. Whiteout will be my color of choice. Interior is pretty good, the HVAC is kind of bland in comparison to the BRZ. I noticed Toyota/Scion is still using the same cheap plastics. That's to be expected to keep the cost down. The backseat is useless other than for storage. I'm not tall by any means and there was only about 1" of space behind the seat. The seats do hold you in nicely for stock seats. Trunk space is good for the car's size, but shallow.

The ride is firm, but not harsh. However it could be that I've just ridden on lowering springs with my tC for too long. The tires are the same sizing as what came stock on the tC, although Michelins instead of the terrible Yokohamas. It handled very nicely, steering is firm and gives immediate feedback. Almost twitchy but not bad.

As others have noted, the engine is really low in the bay helping with the CoG. Fender liners are exposed, high strut towers, and narrow fender lips. Response is good from the auto in sport mode, although a little harsh at lower RPMs. The engine revs fairly easily which is good considering the power is made at high RPMs. Acceleration is overall better than the tC being that max torque isn't all made before 4k. It's not a fast car, as you have to give it the beans to really get going. However you definitely have a lot of fun getting there.

I would hate to be the Midwestern owner who tries to drive one in the snow...
I guess it was smart to buy a xB afterall.

Especially with those fender liners. I wonder how well its going to hold up with a 4 inch snow filled fender? My old tC lost its liner during one of the storms and I drove it completely open since I knew I was going to trade it in later. My engine bay was TRASHED with all the salt which actually started to rust on certain metals.

Dealer just offered me 16k on my supercharged tC (25k miles). Going to look at pulling my STOPTECH BBK off, and take my custom fiberglassed trunk setup out. That puts me at about $18k to use twards the FRS.

Since so many people are buying them, I figured it was time to start the stickies. Color threads here: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=215203

Does anyone know if the BRZ colors are identical minus WRB? I know they have different names but for some reason I doubt they'd be spraying 14 different colors on the same assembly line, but I could be wrong.
