What are the part costs like on the FR-S/BRZ?
I currently drive a 2008 VW GTI, and am on the market for a newer vehicle. Right not I'm deciding between a Mazda 3, FR-S, or a newer model of GTI.
My experience with the GTI has been mostly pleasant, although repair costs have been a real killer. Every part I've had to replace has been around twice as much as it costs on other vehicles in the family (Ford, Honda, etc). This, combined with high labor costs, has made it a very pricey few years of ownership.
I'm curious how a Scion FR-S or Subaru BRZ compares. Judging by what I've seen, both of these vehicles are about as reliable/unreliable as the GTI, so it all comes down to the costs of repair rather than frequency.
Any input is appreciated.
