Let me just start with I'm 4'9" and I'm really close to the steering wheel. I would like to get away from it for safety reasons and I feel that pedal extenders would do the trick. I don't want anything installed that I have to use my hands for. I've been researching this and it's tough that the gas pedal is a hinge. The dealers don't want to have anything to do with it due to liability. I want to say I just need a couple more inches. If anyone has any information that could help me, I would be eternally grateful.

Thank you but the hinge gas pedal made it impossible for me to get extenders. Unfortunately I had to return the car and get another.

A former coworker of mine was 5'4" and drove a Chevy van with wooden block extensions cut from a scrap piece of 2x4. I know it sounds cheap but it worked. He used his stock, rubber pedal covers for templates and cut the blocks on a band saw. Corresponding holes were drilled in the corners of each pedal and block, then fastened with bolts and nuts. Good luck finding a solution.
