At the same price point as my MS3 the Toyota/Scion competitor would sell like crack cocaine if it looked like the above pic, and if it was a 4 door hatch it opens the market to an even wider range,, Hell make both versions for that matter then everybody is happy.

Sources tell me, "hold your breath."

I would take a deep breath and release it slowly. There's a lot of excitement among those who ought to know. It's just that Toyota is somehow making it very clear that it's in their best interest to not spill.

I would certainly hope not. Otherwise it's an extraordinarily half assed attempt by toyota.

I don't particularly like Honda, but the Corolla is not in the Civic Si's league.

No turbos, just superchargers, please. Speaking of superchargers, where's the supercharger you promised the xB2?

if Scion had something, *anything* lined up/up their sleeves, they'd better drop some hint, and quick. their sales are down.... again. they have the habit of showing 2 different types of concepts: 1) random, wacky "here's what we can do" type of concepts (Fuse), or 2) almost ready for production, here's what you're getting (T2B). I hope that the Hako is the former, but that leaves the tC replacement completely, 100% up in the air. absolutely NOTHING I've seen from Scion has been any more than "look at this funky sheetmetal we can put on top of our boring small car platform." Scion Corp, I hope you're reading these, b/c when my loan is up on my tC (also purchased in Oct '04), there's nothing that I've seen lately that will keep me in the Scion family...

I'm not.

Not too much I want to say. Not too much more that I can say, even if I wanted to.

As far as they're hinting, it's going to be a Toyota, rather than a Scion.

My own speculation: FUSE will be the inspiration for whatever comes after tC.

Anyway, like I said, don't hold your breath but don't give up ALL hope. I hate getting zinged by Toyota all the time (thinking about all the false rumors coming from random Japanese publications) but this is the first time I've seen some key people get very excited; still, I'm sure you've taken this with a grain of salt. That'd be wisest.

Dear Scion,
Bring back the 1.5 L motor. Or even better yet how about a 1.2 L or 1.0 L motor that gets 50 to 60 MPG! A plug-in hybrid would also be nice.

Dear Mr. President,

Please make it illegal for anyone to drive under the posted speed limit.

Thanks.

Found this while surfing wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_..._generation.3F

Looks like, possibly a 200hp rwd gt version and 300hp awd gt-4.

Toyota is rumored to be working on the eighth generation of the Celica. This Celica is projected to be made with the help of Subaru (Toyota owns 8.7% of Fuji Heavy Industries). Reports indicate that the new Celica would come in two trims: a sub-$20,000 200 hp front-engine/rear-wheel-drive GT and a 300 hp front-engine/all-wheel-drive GT-4, using a new Boxer engine, respectively. [2] The next generation Toyota Celica will be available in two versions, a Celica GT and Celica GT-4. The GT should be powered by the 2.0-litre boxer and will be rear-wheel-drive, while the GT-4 receives the 300 hp 2.0-litre boxer from the Impreza WRX STI with Subaru's four-wheel-drive (including in-wheel electric motors for added power on the wheels). Further rumours are that Toyota may return to WRC with the new Celica.

The Toyota Celica will also have two body stylings, first, a true coupe but also a three-door hatchback. There will not be a five-door hatch since that would directly compete with the Subaru Impreza hatch.

The Celica is expected to be built by Subaru at the Gunma plant. Whether the new Celica will ever be available outside of Japan is not yet known.
