anyways, my brain is fried right now...so i think i'm missing some of the points i was gonna make, but oh well. end rant.

Im sorry but about 95% of everything you wrote makes ME think your young and clueless.

NOBODY! and I mean NOBODY! will EVER pay 28K for a scion unless the rims and dipped in 24K gold, because anybody would go for those 3Series and is300's YOU see ridding around in.

Scion is not looking to get " STREET CRED" they are looking to sell cars, and
not for young idiots who like racing but for young customers who like hooking their
cars up to look better. Scion tC is for SHOW not for GO. Just look at the list of accesories and see how many are performance and how many are for looks.

I own a tC its a really nice car for the value and I enjoy it look's and Im very pleased with its engine performance, but Im not looking to impress anybody who own's an EVO ok.

As for this new Scion, I can see a convertible concept with option's like hard top and others.

I cant see Scion selling anything that is over 20K.

x3.................. except scion IS looking for 'street cred', in the form of being the car to have as a young buyer, so hopefully they will upgrade to a toyota/lexus later in life

just because you don't think someone will drive a 28k scion, doesn't mean that's how it is. it just means you wouldn't drive one. if scion made an AWD turbo car that ran with evo's and STi's, i'm sure people would buy it. scion is not looking to just sell cars. scion is looking for customers new to the toyota brand. they want to introduce customers to toyota, and then hopefully keep them there. i'm not gonna turn this into a flame war, although you got a little testy, for no reason except you decided you didn't like what i said.
what i said was based on information that i was told during training sessions. again, just to stop a flame before it starts, i'm not saying i know anything, merely stating an opinion. scion wants new market share that toyota and lexus is not reaching.
so you want looks and not fast, you are not every consumer in america. so toyota has gotten you in the door, you own a tC. so maybe they wanna market to the people who they don't have in the door, like people who own STi's and Evo's. they succesfully stole the civic market with the tC, so now they go after something else. makes total sense to me. if you're look at it from scion's point of view, and not your own.

and please answer this question, why wouldn't anyone buy a 28k scion?

edit*
another point i wanna make, and this is not aimed as a respone, but a follow up to some stuff i said in an earlier point. i think scion has successfully set it self as the young brand. meaning, i get people in all the time saying that they are to old to look at the car. i get a lot of older people who wanna feel younger or just don't care about branding. so, think about this, what better midlife crisis car to buy, then a evo'ish, STi'ish car, but made by the young hip brand? again, people who never would have looked at toyota otherwise.
oh, and another thing that i just wanna make sure to say again, because it seems as if people think otherwise...is that scion is marketed towards x-y gen...not just y gen. x gen can be as old as mid 30's i believe. don't quote me on that, i'm not sure the exact age range.

hmmm..tick tock tick tock...boooomm!!
I think we'll see something for the "look and no go" people and " STI killer" people with more $$ and you know what. Possible 2 versions of 1 car,,,that's how you'll solve the problem!

check out this old article I found.

Except toyota wont sell a 28K scion. Thats Toyota territoy, and they'd make an awd turbo corolla to compete w/ the evo, sti (remeber the corolla wrc?) before the make a 28k scion.
I'll believe that it could happen if it happens.

I think that a 28K Scion would be nice if it had a 3sgte engine and rear or all wheel drive.

But if it doesn't have that then I would probably go for an Evo or something else.

Why wouldn't anybody buy a 28K scion??

I can’t speak on behalf of anybody else but I will tell you the reasons why. First off if I had 28K I would probably not even know about Scion. I figure with that amount of money you would be considering other cars for that matter. I would take any BMW 3 Series, IS300, Infinity G35, Mazda RX-8, EVO,Maxima and many more.

Scion was not built with the intention to compete with these types of cars and that’s very evident with the current line-up. The no-haggle pricing and their less than perfect credit financing are clearly aimed at those people who have a combination of age and income of about 20. Sure if in the process they happen to lure a few customers who were contemplating purchasing some of the cars I named above, than it's a plus.

Another aspect worth mentioning is that I’m pretty sure that at least 50% of Scion's out there were probably either purchased or Financed via the parents of the Driver's and I can assure you that the last thing Scion wants is for parents to think that these cars are utilized for anything other than commuting in a stylish way, and racing.

We have to keep it real, I still have trouble explaining to many people what brand Scion is, It hasn’t just yet built a reputation. If you have $1000 and you wanted to buy a TV would you buy the Sony witch cost $1100 or would you buy the Ynos witch cost $400. It's just common sense.

Also I certainly do not want to start any type of dispute or offend you and I think I have with my comments regarding your maturity, For this I sincerely apologize

I would buy a 28k scion.
In a years time my wife will be a registered nurse instead of a student who sponges my income.( sorry sweetheart).

I will then buy a STi ( FUGLY but awsome) or a Evo ( the MR is $36k btw) which is a little small and a little fugly.

The missus wants a 3 series ($32k unless you want PLEATHER) so a comprimise could be a IS350 which is a very good looking car.
But if I could buy a car that was as well thought out as the xB ,tC or xA but with a bigger budget and more ponies then that would be sweet.
BTW there is a bunch of tC's on here that are over $28k already.

celt you said it very nicely.
personally i would never buy a bmw, if i had the money or not. i would love an STi, but with the track record that subaru has, i don't know that i would spend that much money on one. transmission problems scare me. ill roll with you celt. 28k scion doesn't scare me one bit plus, like you said, there are many, many people driving 28k scions anyways.

Anyhow, let get this thing back on topic. All I know is that Scion has a short time to unveil the 2007 replacements for the xB and xA. And the tC has one more year of life till it's up for replacement.
I just pray the xB doesn't get replace with the new bB. It should be cool to see what they come up with to replace the xA.

the Xb isn't going to be replaced with the new japan bB.

the replacements are gonna be just like the tC is. made in japan for the USDM only.
